Here’s my problem with Apple’s ai reframing, it isn’t just adding in more background, it’s generating people, text, and signs that weren’t there. I don’t believe tools like this should be built into the native photos app. This does not respect the art of photography

They said photography wasn’t art. They said cinema wasn’t art. They said video games weren’t art. Now they say AI arts/digital art isn’t art. I’ve spent over a decade with my studio team turning millions of data points into living, breathing artwork experiences ethically — at MoMA, at the Guggenheim, at the Venice Biennale. Not because a machine told me what to create, but because I had a vision that no traditional tool could realize. Denying all AI technologies as an artistic medium doesn’t protect art. It limits it. The artists who embrace new tools don’t replace the old masters — they join them. Art is not defined by the brush. It’s defined by the intention, the emotion, and the courage to see the world differently.

built a small space on the internet not a portfolio, just things i’m building, thinking about, and collecting like a journal site → adayinalife[dot]vercel[dot]app (check thread) how it works: i dump thoughts into poke ai Poke → it structures them in Notion → site pulls and turns it into a journal it’s kind of like my own twitter, just more personal hover to peek, click to go deeper built with vite + Cursor, deployed on Vercel this will always be a work in progress i’ll keep adding things as i go ( open to ideas and building something together and might make it public to make their own journals )

A lot of you don’t know this about me because I don’t post my art much or talk about it but I was an honors art student, accepted with scholarships to nearly every prestigious art school in the country, and my original major was illustration. The “sketch” portion of this video is embarrassing. It does not in any way resemble someone sketching from scratch, but rather it bears very distinct tells of someone drawing over an existing image and trying to pass it off as an original sketch. Everything about the sketch is what I would call “performative” - she’s doing what she *thinks* people do when they sketch, but she doesn’t actually know what that entails. There’s also a reason she recorded this with a secondary device rather than using the built-in screen recording tools on the device/app she’s using. doing that would have revealed the hidden layers that she carefully edited out. Anyway, here’s a real drawing I made. It isn’t good, but I drew it from scratch with my own hands, and that makes me 1000x better than a fraud like her.
