Hey guys, just a nice simple Tyger Byte today on how to get the back button working with the new verse input actions as I saw some of you were struggling with it. Code/widget on github. #UEFN

🔥 for some reason they didn’t show for me at first in UI. Not sure why but all of a sudden it worked

Yeah it was definitely buggy to start with

🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

i still use Verse 0.0 lol but thats good to know! thanks for the friendly tip and thank you for not gatekeeping :p

Ty for sharing

I see you made this into a componant, it also works in normal verse devices, right? Will try to implement it in some of my already existing UIs if that's the case

Yes can be normal verse device

okay good, I would need more help about it, I don't like how you pass the InputEvents instead of the whole PlayerInput variable, I would like to be able to pass the whole PlayerInput variable and do "PlayerInput.GetInputEvents(UI.Back).TriggerActivationEvent.Await()"

Well, I still can't get this one to work. I can see the (B) icon on the button, but the input detection never works. If I use the code just as you have I get ambiguous identifier errors. When I fully qualify these using PlayerInput.AddInputMapping((/Verse.org/Input:)UI.MenuNavigationMapping); then it has no errors but it still doesn't work. Could this somehow be the source of my frustration? This is not a hard one... just not understanding why I am not able to figure this out.

That's because your folder is called UI. Rename it and compile verse to get rid of that error.

I gave that a shot, but unfortunately no luck. For some reason the input still does not fire.

Hmm, not sure why then. Are you sure you bound it in the widget?

Been on this one all day... again. lol. fml. I found that when I leave focus of the fortnite app and focus another app. If I stay on the newly focused app for like 5 minutes and then click the back button on my joystick (while maintaining focus on the newly opened app) the BeginDetectEvent and the TriggerActivationEvent are fired. I can see it in my log. Any ideas?

Any idea if this also works for custom buttons?

It does :-)

Wait, I don't get it... so how do we actually show the input on the button? 🤔

Could u please make a on screen timer tutorial its glitched

Sure, I'll do that one next week :-)

@TheDevUnknown Legend. I’m gonna learn a lot from you
