Modi Govt will now bring a THIRD-PARTY inspection agency to audit about 5,000 km of expressways & highways 🤯 > They'll keep an eye on the first pour of concrete to the last kilometre. About 770 km of expressways, 2,200 km of six-lane, & 1,000 km each of four-lane and two-lane stretches. Today that job sits with “independent” quality auditors, mostly retired government engineers on NHAI panels. Same ecosystem. Same comfort. During the last PRAGATI meet, Modi already asked the Babus the harder question: If the third party is only the old club with a new visiting card, do you need a fourth?😂 The point is not another report. The point is a road that does not crack before the ribbon fades💥 Inspection from day one. Not a certificate after the pothole.

That’s the problem in India we build structures before infrastructure. I’ve been travelling on the Bharatmala Expressway for the past few days, and yesterday in 500 km there wasn’t even a single proper ladies’ washroom. Found one, but it wasn’t working. We build massive highways, but what about basic amenities? Who cares. Forget food stops at least a clean washroom is essential. Ironically, these highways even lead to 7-star hotels and private properties, yet the approach and basic facilities on the way are just unimaginable! NHAI

Imphal Guwahati, a 40 minute flight, a flight distance of barely 274 km, is around Rs 17k-18k while Guwahati Delhi, a flight distance of 1450 km, flight time of 2.30 to 3 hrs is around Rs 7k-8k! This is nothing but daylight robbery committed upon the tragedy stricken people of Manipur! I had raised this issue way back in February. Just as it refuses to carry out its duty to ensure people's access to the highways, the Govt of India remains a mute spectator to this loot.
