@MicrosoftvApple Up until a few years ago, they only made lower end phones, so they obviously optimised their software according to that. And still their phones don't have the highest of specs.

Meanwhile nothing says always highly optimised os but it lags everyday (atleast in my 2a &my friends),hi os had all basic features with very good customisation even though it was copy but they still giving what users need. But here nothing skipping a lot basic name of simplicity

I am doing an experiment to compare various UI framework in terms of how long it takes to *layout* the UI for one frame (average). I have basically the same UI implemented in all the frameworks, and they each have a mode where they are operated automatically in a way that stresses the layout code, and print out how long it took on average to layout frames. So far, Rust's egui seems to have shortest layout time among the immediate mode libraries. Rust's Iced has a lower average number, but I think it's more of a retained mode library. GPUI is relatively slow Flutter is on par with GPUI SwiftUI is the slowest of them all.

IMHO, Dear ImGui is easily the most underrated library for in-game UI. I built a custom UI framework on top of it (skinning, animations, layouts, HUD elements, scaling, aligment etc) for my engine. Couldn't be happier with how fast and clean it turned out.
