Stop drifting after you land. A lot of hitters think they need to keep moving forward after foot plant to create power. In reality, that forward drift often causes the barrel to work down through and under the ball. Instead, rotate behind your contact point. Keep your head stable, create more space, and give the barrel a better path through the zone. HEAD - down and back slightly OK✅ MOVING FORWARD AS YOU SWING❌ Train with an expert, not an influencer.

Everyone obsessed with that front shoulder “up”at toe touch… listen up. When you land at toe touch → heel plant, the front shoulder benefits the hitter more if it is slightly down or at least parallel. Not shrugged. Not lifted. Why? Because when that shoulder pops UP, your torso dumps all the tension you created during the load. No tension = no stored energy. No stored energy = you’re not maximizing rotation, swing path, or power. Period. It’s been this way since the beginning of time (uh not really, but you get the point) — and it continues to prove true. This is how hitters maximize their own power, no matter the size.

The only way to do this with both force and stability is by hitting against a strong front side — more specifically, our front heel. When we drive the front heel properly into the ground, it allows us to maximize both force and stability, enabling our mechanics to function correctly and generate gap-to-gap power! #softball #hitting #lesson

Stop dumping the barrel!! Big cue here to make sure we aren’t doing this in our swing. When we start our move, the first move should be with the back hip and knob to set our direction to the ball. If you don’t feel this and instead feel your back elbow going first—getting in front of your hands—you’re dumping the barrel and losing control of your ability to make consistent contact. #softball #softballtraining #hitting #barreldump

🚨 🥎 Having difficulty achieving desired results with the pitching machine? Remember the machine serves primarily as a tool to train visual acuity and mental readiness, not to dictate swing mechanics. Instead of altering your swing in response to perceived failures, focus on adjusting your visualization and mental approach. Experiment with initiating your swing upon the ball's release from the machine to assess your timing. Depending on how early you are, delay your swing initiation by the equivalent of one or two ball release cycles. This adjustment prompts your brain to process visual information at an altered rate, thereby refining your perception of timing without necessitating changes to your fundamental swing mechanics. Pulling off the ball is the #1 issue hitters struggle with. (they would agree) To fix it, you don't need to try harder or swing slower. Schwarber proves that. He hits the longest home runs without coming off the ball. How to correct it: Shoulder in, chin and face in on the ball and swing the bat over your front shoulder. Then hold the finish (Arraez swing and finish drill he did in the video) It's worked WONDERS for hitters I've used it with when they need it.

The Problem w/ extension drills !!! Too many hitters try to “muscle” the swing. They squeeze the bat, fight the barrel, and kill all the natural whip that creates real power. The best hitters don’t force the barrel — they release it. Loose hands allow the barrel to move freely and naturally through the zone. It doesn’t mean lazy or sloppy. It means relaxed enough to let your body’s sequence — not tension — deliver the barrel. Think: smooth → quick → explosive. When your hands are loose, your forearms and wrists stay live. That’s where the “Power V” starts to form — the natural extension of your hands and barrel after contact. This in many other Hiting tips can be found. In the Summers Method App

How to set up the tee for a pitch down the middle, inside & outside. I see far too many athletes setting up incorrectly when doing tee work at my clinics and I see it from all ages. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have the tee in the correct spot. You can have the best swing in the world but if your contact point is off, it does you no good. For a pitch down the middle, you’ll want to make contact with the ball about even with your front foot in order to stay connected and hit for maximum power. Inside will be right outside of front foot and outside will be right inside of front foot. Letting the ball travel too deep will jam you and catching too far out front will force you to hit the ball off the end of the bat and roll over. So for those wanting to change swing mechanics so quickly for mishitting the ball, check your contact points first.

A common hitting flaw that is rarely corrected and can exposes certain hitters at higher levels, is “leaking” … the player’s front side is “running away” from contact prematurely. Sometimes also called “spinning off” the ball. This means energy is escaping the swing because of a chain of events that usually begins with the incorrect action of the stride foot. Correctly engaging the stride foot into the ground, called “foot-plant,” allows the body to efficiently sequence. As a result, the swing is shorter and barrel stays in the hitting zone longer. The BIG key is we have to be able to ***control our front knee*** before starting to swing. If a hitter can control their front knee and their front side a hair longer, stay behind contact, and attack the inside of the ball, it creates more whip.…(bat speed) and improves plate coverage. You might need to watch the video a couple times, because there are various ways to stride that allow the hitter to control their front knee. It is not a one size fits all action. And hitters who have sick power and want to pull the ball intentionally might actually “leak and clear” on purpose. But players who like to stay to middle of the field, might want to see what the initial movement into foot plant looks like. **** Remember, what happens to the front foot (stride foot) AFTER contact has little consequence. Often heavy torque causes it to fly open, or roll on side of foot. That’s all ok.

This exercise should be mandatory for people who sit at desks. It's called the Band dislocate. When you sit at a desk for long periods of time your shoulders start rounding forward and your chest caves in. Band dislocates help mobilize your rotator cuffs while stretching out your chest muscles. How to do them: You can use a band, a towel or a broom handle. Resistance band is best. Hold the band in front of your waist. Rotate your arms up & over your head down to your low back. Reverse the process. That is one rep. Do this for 6 to 12 reps. Do this a few times a week and your shoulders and chest will thank you.

Are people saying "oh, the pitchers in trouble here" Or do they see your presence and think "he's got no chance" Hitters spend all waking hours on their swing and zero time on how they carry themselves in the box. Or on deck. Or walking up to the plate. Train how you carry your bat walking up to the plate. Train how you have that slight 'good luck' stare down at the pitcher. Train how you give off 'you better not miss' vibes to the pitcher. Pitchers read it. Coaches read it. Your family reads it. You step in unsure with your head down and you've told them how the at-bat goes before the first pitch. The ones who own the box aren't faking it. They know their plan, they trust their swing, and it shows. Go watch your own video, Go train it.
