17 June 2026 Giga Texas Snapshots! I’m back after a few weeks away in Europe & visiting Giga Berlin (a fantastic factory too!) so today I decided to try and get a good overall look at the activity & changes here since I was away, and there is really a lot to cover … almost too much! Cybercab production continues with many of these vehicles lined up at the factory exit point & more int the outbound lot. I saw a Model Y production going strong too, with several in the new shades of blue recently announced too! The 4680 battery cell portion of the factory was getting concrete delivered inside where I’ve observed demolition & expansion work underway to increase production capacity & this is backed up with several new permits filed over the past few days! The Test track has had more work on it including paint marks, dedicated lanes w/ dividers & a Cybercab testing office & vehicles that have been recently observed driving on the track for some kind of testing. The E side where the new joint venture with SpaceX Advanced Chip fab is being constructed was getting GeoPier work, while more preparations were underway to relocate active workshops & recycling yards further to the N to clear space for additional construction. Cortex 2 part 2 chiller system fan tower seems nearly completed structurally, while more pipes, vale’s & wrapped items remain to be installed. The N Optimus factory shows significant work with steel erection (up to 4 floors), GeoPier work on the N end, grade work on the S end, land reclamation on the extreme S & footing construction in the middle. This will truly be a massive factory once completed w/ floor space a significant % of the main factory! Much more going on today! It’s great to be back!

260621 Caratland 2026 #SCOUPS #에스쿱스 End ment 🍒 yes first... thank you to all of caratdeul who came for the past 2 days. I joined Pledis when I was 16yo and now before I knew it, I've become 32. 🍒 I've spent half of my life at Pledis 🍒 I’m naturally quite competitive. When I was a trainee, I endured those trainee days because I wanted to beat others and come out on top in evaluations. After debuting, seeing so many senior artists doing well, I promoted with the goal of performing on even bigger stages and gaining even more popularity. 🍒 But honestly, I can't remember exactly when it happened. At some point, though, that competitive spirit became less important. What made me happy was simply being on stage with the members. And these days, I've been focusing a lot on how I can repay the love that Carats give us, because receiving that love means so much to me. Part of the reason for all of that is probably the love that the members give me. And I believe the biggest reason is the love I've received from Carats. 🍒 So I just want to tell the members and Carats how grateful I am. 🍒 I think Im going to cry.... auh..... 🍒 I get to keep seeing you all, so it feels a little strange that I'm the one who's crying 🍊(?) You can’t do without me, right? You’ll miss me 🐶 (singing) You can’t do without me~ 🍒 And also, I know this kind of speech gets shared everywhere, but I really want to thank all the staff members who have crossed paths with us ah I should say, everyone we’ve worked with, even once before. The many staff who have worked with SEVENTEEN in the past, and those who are working with us now. I truly want to express my gratitude to all of them. And to those who may have liked SEVENTEEN in the past but not anymore now, if they happen to watch this video, I want to tell them that their love also gave me a lot of strength in getting to where I am today. 🍒 Thank you

“Alright guys, I was telling you… I’ve been a bit absent these past few days because, as you know, I was with Scarlett, so we spent a bit more time just for ourselves. But we didn’t miss the live at Vera’s place and Margarida and Tillie were there too. I hope you liked that livestream, it was a bit crazy, but at least we got to have a few laughs together. I’ve come back to my homeland—very cute, yeah. And yeah, now I’m here with you, all fresh, clean, and smelling nice after this morning’s flight, which was a disaster. Not only was it delayed by 45 minutes, but then there were another 40 minutes waiting in line…. And then another 40 minutes in line to get through passport control. Passport control, guys. Insane. I think there were multiple flights all at once—at some point nothing made sense anymore. People were cutting in line, pushing through—I mean, what even… just one line for passports. I understand people who had connections, but just say it, don’t just shove your way through, you know? You get me? You get me? Anyway, yeah guys, in the end we made it. I got back home, and yeah… me and Scar will see each other in a month—or honestly, I don’t even know when exactly. It’s a long-distance relationship, so it’s not like we’ll see each other every day or be together constantly. We knew that from the start, for sure. But sometimes it’s even nicer like this, because when you meet again you have so much more to share. But yeah, we’ll find a way to see each other—hopefully as soon as possible. And it’s okay like this. We don’t like things to be easy… at least, I don’t.

🐰 "Honestly, I’ve seen quite a few comments like this over the past few days. They were kinda negative comments, though I don’t think they came from the Besties. Some people were saying things like, “Why don’t Lookmhee and Sonya have any international work?” Like, what do you call it… those big worldwide projects, kinda like what other people are getting. But I also understand the context of everything. I feel like everything depends on opportunities and timing. Sometimes it just might not be our time yet, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. Because right now, Sonya and Lookmhee are working really hard, and honestly, getting to meet so many of our fans already makes me really, really happy. I’m just really satisfied and happy with what we have right now. I’m not trying to spoil anything, okay? I’m not spoiling anything, I’m just saying this because I feel like there have been a lot of things happening lately that have made us see things differently. And after thinking about it, I realized that if we don’t look at those things as something that means we haven’t succeeded yet, then maybe… Because Sonya doesn’t know what success looks like for everyone. It’s different for each person. For me, I feel like we’ve already come so much further than Lookmhee and Sonya ever expected. We have so many fans who love us and support our work. There might be people who look at things negatively and think, “Maybe Lookmhee and Sonya just aren’t good enough yet,” or something like that. But I think those things can also become another reason for us to keep pushing forward and give us even more motivation to work on other things. And honestly, we’ve received so much support in our work. Some people might look at the situation and think, “Maybe Lookmhee and Sonya still aren’t good enough,” but for me, I think it just becomes another thing that pushes us forward and gives us more motivation to keep working on other things. Today might not be our day yet, but maybe it will be in the future, you know? We just have to wait for the right time. Everything has its own timing. It took me a long time to realize and understand that everything happens in its own time, because I’ve been in the industry since I was seven. It took so many years for me to get to where I am today. I mean, it took time for me to finally get the opportunity to really shine in the entertainment industry, and for the adults around me to give me the best opportunities. Everything has its own timing. I got my first chance to act in Affair when I was around 22 or 23, right? So from the time I was seven until I was 23, if I only got that opportunity then, that’s totally okay. There’s never a day when it’s too late. Nothing is ever too late. I’m honestly really happy that these days, all the way until the end of the year, I might not have work every single day, but I’d say I actually have quite a lot of work." #Sonyasaranphat #ลูกหมีซอนญ่า #LMSY

🇮🇷🇮🇱| A little more to understand... My opinion: The war may end in a few days or last a lot longer—all depending on whether or not the US joins Israel. Israel is not able to fight against Iran for much longer; its interceptors have a certain capability threshold, and reports already suggest it is rationing its interceptor missiles, and we've seen how 12-17 interceptors were launched, yet Iranian missiles still made an impact. It all comes down to whether the US is willing to go to war with Iran or not; it's likely they will if you consider Trump's administrative behavior since he took office. But honestly, if they are smart, they will not. - A little about Iran's missile situation: Israel says it's conducting operations in northwestern and western Iran to prevent the reactivation of missile bases in Tabriz, Kermanshah, and Khorramabad. A significant portion of the Israeli Air Force is now focused on these 3 sites to prevent further missile launches from those locations. This suggests that the sites they claim they destroyed did not suffer strategic damage, and the destroyed hangars were of minimal value. As a result, Israel continuously carries out operations and remains engaged to prevent Iran from reactivating its capabilities in the west. If these 3 regions are abandoned, Israel will move on to target other strategic sites. These 3 missile bases are among Iran's key assets. The missiles are intact and untouched, it's the launchers that are affected, and they can easily be reactivated, but it's difficult under continuous attacks. Other missile bases in the south remain untouched and have so far not been used, as they are probably being reserved for strikes against the US. Missile launches are mainly launched from the center and north of Iran, some from the western regions as well. The reason for limited and isolated launches these past few days has several explanations, mainly that Iran is testing to recognize new patterns everytime a serious attack is carried out, as Israel continuously changes its defensive behavior to prevent Iran's intelligence from learning it; thus, isolated launches, followed by a bigger, deadlier, and more accurate attack with 30 launches as we saw today.

To CNN International and to all the endless media outlets, big and small, together with all the well-meaning content producers of Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and every other platform that now shapes the global conversation, I would very much wish to pass the following post: As we speak, today’s protest has drawn roughly 2,000 participants. It is the lowest turnout so far, but even at its peak, participation never exceeded 8,000 people. So how is it that what much of the world has seen over the past days appears so enormous, so dramatic, so overwhelming? At some point, when the engineered digital hysteria of these days has passed and emotions have cooled, the democratic world should take a closer look at how the gap between reality and its representation became so vast. Not merely as a matter of this particular case, but as a symptom of something much larger. How could a tiny country become global news for reasons so disconnected from the reality on the ground? How could a local protest involving a few thousand people be transformed into an international spectacle? How could assumptions become facts, narratives become verdicts, and speculation become accepted truth before the basic facts were even established? And perhaps most importantly, what does it say about our information ecosystem when perception can travel around the world faster than reality itself? Because the reality is that there is no project yet. There is no building permit yet. There is no construction yet. There is not even a final design yet. There is only a vision and a plan: to transform Albania into the most attractive high-end tourism destination in this part of the world, while creating a net positive environmental development that, according to the current vision, would ultimately result in approximately 25% more trees and green space than exists today, alongside measurable improvements across multiple biodiversity indicators. The ambition is not merely to build. The ambition is to demonstrate that development and environmental enhancement can go hand in hand. That is precisely why some of the world’s leading experts in ecology, biodiversity, landscape architecture, environmental engineering and sustainable tourism are working on these concepts and parameters. Whether they succeed or fail is a matter for future assessment, science, public scrutiny and transparent debate. But presenting as an environmental catastrophe something that does not yet exist, has not yet been designed, has not yet been permitted, and whose stated objective is in fact to produce positive environmental outcomes, is not a serious contribution to public discussion. And yet, from this simple reality emerged a hurricane of digital hysteria, apocalyptic headlines, manufactured outrage and sweeping conclusions presented as established facts. Along the way came deepfakes, manipulated images, fabricated claims, coordinated amplification, anonymous networks and online behaviour that bears many of the characteristics of the hybrid information warfare that increasingly shapes public debate across democratic societies. Even more remarkably, social media platforms recorded an explosion in activity around this topic, with Albanian-language engagement increasing several-fold within just a few days. A significant part of this sudden surge appears to have been driven not by an organic expansion of public participation, but by the rapid proliferation of newly created profiles, anonymous accounts and pages with little or no identifiable history, raising legitimate questions about artificial amplification and the manufacturing of digital momentum.

SONYA: These days, I’m also waiting for good opportunities from all the people in the industry. But it’s okay. We’ve gotten to meet so many fans this year. I’d say that’s already very much a complete goal that I had set for myself this year. Thank you for every opportunity that has come our way, because we’re working really, really hard. Because I honestly don’t know… Over the past several days, I’ve also come across some things. Um… and they were negative, though. They weren’t from you guys, Phi Phi okay? They were negative comments, like, “Lookmhee and Sonya don’t have any work that’s… international,” or, what do you call it, work that’s worldwide, like other people have, something along those lines. But Sonya also understands the context of everything. I feel like everything depends on our opportunities and our timing too. Sometimes something might not happen today, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. Because these days, we’re working really hard, and we really enjoy getting to meet so many fans. Honestly, that alone is enough. What do you call it? We’re already very happy with that. Not spoiling anything , right? (Reading a comment from a fan.) It’s just… it makes me sad 😂, you know? What kind of person do you all think Sonya is? I’m not spoiling anything!! I’m just telling you about it because I feel like, over the past several days, there have been quite a few things that we’ve seen, and they’ve also made me think. But actually, with those things, if we don’t take them as meaning that we haven’t achieved anything yet… you know what I mean? Because I don’t know… What counts as success is different for everyone anyway. I feel that where we are today is already much further than what we ever expected. We have so many fans who love us and support our work. Sometimes people may think negatively in that way, like… “Maybe we just aren’t… aren’t good enough yet,” or something like that. There can be a lot of thoughts like that. But I think it can also become something that pushes us forward, and gives us motivation to keep working on so many other things. Today may not be our day. But maybe in the future, it will be. Right? We just have to wait for the right time. Everything has its own timing. Because from what Sonya has experienced and understood, I know that everything has its own time. I’ve been in this industry since I was 7 years old. And it took all this time to get to where I am today… I mean, it took that long before I had the opportunity to really have my moment in the entertainment industry, before the people in the industry gave me the best opportunities. Everything has its own timing. Sonya got to act in the series Affair for the first time when I was 22–23, right? Around that age. From 7 years old until 23, it was only then that Sonya got that opportunity. And there’s never a day when it’s too late. Nothing is ever too late. I’m so happy. I’m really, really happy that from now until the end of this year, everyone… We don’t have work every single day, but we do have a lot of work. And on the days when I disappear, I already know that our fans—whether Thai fans or international fans—will miss us. So we’ll try to keep updating our social media so everyone won’t miss us too much. But it doesn’t mean that when we disappear, we’re not doing anything at all, okay? Sometimes we’re exercising, doing laundry, doing housework, doing the things we’re supposed to do, taking things out of our bags, putting things away, cleaning and clearing out the house… We’re not really going out anywhere, everyone (She’s honestly too kind. She didn’t even say where those comments came from. I just hope we can all take a moment to think before posting something, because even if we don’t mean any harm, our words can still make someone as kind as her feel hurt or uncomfortable.)🥺🩷🐰 #SonyaSaranphat

Namjoon about Swim💜 🐨: Next is “Swim,” and honestly, I really love this song. I think a lot of people were probably disappointed by it. Like, it’s not exciting in the way “Dynamite” was, and it’s not an intense hip-hop performance track like “Hooligan” or “2.0,” so some people probably thought, “Why did they release such a subdued, low-energy song?” 🐨: But the reality is simple: No better song than “Swim” came out. We never originally intended for “Swim” to be the title track. But we had to think about radio play too, whether the song would have longevity, versatility, and lasting appeal. And in the end, “Swim” was the only song that checked all those boxes. 🐨: Honestly, I think title tracks themselves barely mean anything anymore these days. There’s more of a “lead single” concept now. Especially in American pop music, there really isn’t this rigid “title track” idea anymore. 🐨: So what made me really happy after “Arirang” came out was that it wasn’t just “Swim” getting attention. Of course Jungkook charting happened and ARMY worked incredibly hard streaming and supporting, but I also loved seeing “Body to Body” becoming a hot topic “Hooligan” getting talked about, “2.0” getting attention, even “Normal” being discussed. For an idol group album, it’s honestly really hard for so many tracks from the same album to all get talked about and chart simultaneously. 🐨: Maybe “Swim” felt less sonically stimulating compared to the others, but I was still so happy that the album as a whole was getting that much discussion and love. 🐨: Writing the lyrics for “Swim” took a really long time. And honestly, it feels sad to say this in 2026, but I wanted this to become a meaningful song too. Since it became the title track — because no stronger radio song than “Swim” came out — I wanted it to carry meaning. 🐨: The truth is, I’m actually not very good at swimming. But I think I started seeing life itself as swimming. Even during military service, counting down days one by one… waiting, wandering, just swimming forward through each day, one breath at a time. That’s why this song feels really sad to me. To me, it feels like the song of BTS in their thirties: becoming more mature, building deeper rapport with fans, living more adult lives, each person carrying their own life forward. 🐨: So lyrically and emotionally, this song means a lot to me personally. Of course, maybe it would’ve been nice if there had been an even better title track. But I think this is the kind of song that will stay with me for a very long time. Honestly, I wish it received even more love. 🐨: Of course, performance is such an important part of who we are, and BTS grew from intense hip-hop sounds and powerful performances, so I understand why some people might find “Swim” underwhelming. 🐨: But for me… “Swim” is the kind of song I’d want to hear at my own grave someday. It sounds like a love song, but it’s also about life itself. I wanted it to feel open enough to be interpreted both ways. Looking at “you” beneath the moon and the sharks — that “you” could be someone I love, the fans, myself, or even my own life. 🐨: I think it’s a very rare song that contains all kinds of emotions together, joy, anger, sorrow, happiness. So yeah… that’s what “Swim” is to me. Personally, I just wish more people would love it a little more. And honestly, after finishing this album, I think I came to a sad conclusion: people don’t really listen to lyrics anymore. So if anyone hears what I’m saying now, I hope they’ll go back and look a little more deeply at what we were trying to say through this album. That’s my personal wish. 🐨: I still have a lot more I want to say about “Swim,” and I think I’ll probably keep talking about it in the future too. But anyway, I really love this song. I also really loved the “Keep Swimming” campaign. Because honestly, life isn’t all that extraordinary. There are happy days, sad days… and all of us are just swimming forward one day at a time.

//The Wire//1800Z July 16, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: UKRAINIAN ATTACKS CONTINUE ON RUSSIAN SHIPPING IN BLACK SEA, RUSSIA RETALIATES BY STRIKING UKRAINIAN SHIPPING. WILDFIRES CONTINUE TO SPREAD IN CANADA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Europe: The war in Ukraine has continued to expand, with attacks on Russian merchant vessels remaining constant in the Black Sea. Russia has likewise retaliated by striking Ukrainian vessels also located within the Black Sea, as well as several port cities in southwestern Ukraine. Middle East: The war continues as before, with regular strikes taking place in the coastal regions which have been host to targeting for several days. Last night the US struck the port of Bandar Abbas again, and the Iranians have responded with attacks on Kuwait, which continued sporadically overnight. Analyst Comment: One aspect of the war that has not escalated for now, has been the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. After the initial mutual strikes two days ago, the Saudi's have chosen to back off of this line of effort, probably because they realized how bad of an idea it is to start a fight with the Houthis right now. That Saudi East-West Pipeline is the main asset that is keeping Saudi Arabia in the global oil market right now, and the Houthis can very easily threaten their main revenue source. Canada: Over the past few days, wildfires have continued to spread throughout the nation. As of this morning, at total of 859x wildfires are actively burning nationwide in Canada, most of which are clustered in Ontario, Qeubec, and the Northwest Territories. Of these active fires, 63x are out of control with zero percent containment. Evacuations of thousands of rural and tribal areas have been ordered over thousands of square miles, and air quality alerts have been issued for much of the American northeast and mid-Atlantic due to the smoke. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Though not exactly grabbing front page headlines, the war in Ukraine has continued to expand and become increasingly more serious during this year's summer offensive. Numbers are hard to independently verify, but the Ukrainians claim a total of 136x Russian vessels have been struck so far during this Black Sea targeting campaign since it began last week. This number seems a little high, but what is undeniable is that the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov have become a new front during this war...for both sides, as demonstrated by the Russians now targeting Ukrainian ships. Equally important is the impact this is having on the broader Russian oil market. Previous strikes on petroleum refineries resulted in fuel shortages throughout Russia, which have varied by severity and location. Striking tankers in the Black Sea really only impacts the petroleum export market, and the long-term impacts of this will be interesting to follow. Like it or not, the concept of globalization has functioned as designed, and most nations are linked to each other in ways that are not readily apparent at first. Russia mostly exports oil to India and China, and their exports have remained high during the Persian Gulf crisis. So Ukraine, in striking the oil intended for China, is directly playing a hand in the Gulf War...a conflict thousands of miles away. How this will manifest over the next few weeks will be important. Gas prices in the US have been MUCH cheaper than they should be, due to a long list of factors, one of which has been the Chinese dipping into their own reserves to sharply reduce their demand. Ukraine strikes ships intended for China, and China now has to either dip into their reserves more...or buy more oil from the Middle East, and demand goes up in an already restricted supply chain. The Gulf War is still hot to some degree, and the minuscule flow of oil that had begun to trickle out of the Gulf during the ceasefire has once again slowed to a drip...and now that Ukraine is striking Russian oil intended for China, an already tight oil market is probably going to be squeezed even harder. //The Wire//2300Z March 6, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: GULF WAR CONTINUES AS THE WAR OF LOGISTICS BECOMES PARAMOUNT. AMERICAN BASES THROUGHOUT MIDDLE EAST CONTINUE TO BE TARGETED BY IRANIAN FORCES. TERRORISM CONCERNS REMAIN IN THE HOMELAND AS THE WAR CONTINUES.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Persian Gulf: The war continues as before, with Iranian drone attacks remaining constant throughout the region. Dubai alone has been averaging around a hundred munitions being observed each day, nearly all of which are intercepted. Flights out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been able to increase somewhat, as Iranian drone attacks have shifted to targeting American military installations and petroleum infrastructure around the region. Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait have been primary targets for Iranian missiles/drones, with significant targeting efforts taking place over the past 24 hours. Concerning American targeting efforts, bombings continue in Tehran and other major cities. Most military infrastructure throughout Iran has been destroyed, and President Trump has stated that no deal is sought, as only unconditional surrender is demanded. Analyst Comment: This has been the blanket statement since the start of the war, but it's not entirely clear as to whom Iranian military forces are supposed to surrender to. Right now, any Iranian who wishes to stop fighting doesn't really have any way to declare that intent. As the United States and Israel rather confidently keep assassinating any sort of political leadership within Iran, it's not known who would even have the authority to sign surrender papers at this point. -HomeFront- USA: Various counterterrorism and law enforcement agencies have been progressively increasing security measures at critical sites around the nation, due to the increased potential for terrorism to take place within the United States as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. NORTHCOM has raised the force protection posture at most North American military installations, with the Trusted Traveler program being temporarily halted while terrorism concerns are elevated. Analyst Comment: Right now, the risk of Iranian government-sponsored combatants engaging targets within the homeland is fairly low. However, due to the prevalence of 5th Generation Warfare being common in the modern world, what is much more likely is the co-opting of the Gulf War by other unrelated groups for their own gain. In short, there probably aren't that many Iranian sleeper agents in the US, but there are dozens of other groups seeking to make a name for themselves, or otherwise hijack national attention for their own gain. As always, predicting when and where security threats will pop up is hard, so increased vigilance is recommended. Washington D.C. - DHS Secretary Noem has been transitioned to a new role, with Senator Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma being slated to replace her within the next few days. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Of note, the satellite imagery company Planet Labs has imposed a 96-hour-delay policy with their satellite imagery, so as to prevent their imagery from being used for targeting purposes. As this is an American company, this makes perfect sense at first, as the modern world of commercial satellite imagery within the civilian space has the possibility to impact the war. However, this move is almost certainly not to prevent the Iranians from obtaining targeting data, and implementing this policy a week after the war began (and after American radar sites have been targeted), is akin to shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted. The Iranians are being fed targeting data of their own from the Chinese, who have been all to happy to highlight American losses with their own satellite constellations, which the United States does not control. And though it is always suspect due to the trustworthiness of the source, the Chinese have been focusing on highlighting specific targets for the Iranians to strike....and there's nothing the United States can do about it. Concerning the next phases of the war, indications and warnings are mounting of the operation shifting into the next phase. This morning the USS FORD CSG transited the Suez Canal, heading south into the Red Sea. Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, the hospital that is the main medical hub for the CENTCOM AOR, confirmed that all prenatal care has been suspended until further notice, so that the medical center can have flexibility in treating combat casualties. On the political front, rhetoric concerning a potential boots-on-ground phase of the operation has sharply increased over the past few days, though no specific decisions have been made public. In short, this could all be nothing, or it could be something. These very thin data points could be the early indicators of the war expanding in scope. In Washington, absolutely zero sentiments indicate that the war will be over anytime soon, and combat operations throughout Iran are expected to remain constant over the next few weeks at minimum. It's been seven days since the war began, and the USS LINCOLN CSG is still holding well outside the Strait of Hormuz, which is a solid indicator that the despite the overwhelming strikes throughout the country, enough risk remains to prevent bringing a carrier into the line of fire more directly. The arrival of a second aircraft carrier in a few days may change this, but as of right now, the Iranians are able to strike American bases and petroleum facilities just enough to indicate that risks remain constant throughout the region. //The Wire//2000Z March 3, 2026// //ROUTINE// //BLUF: DRONE AND MISSILE ATTACKS CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE PERSIAN GULF. SAUDI FORCES DEPLOY TO QUELL RIOTS IN BAHRAIN. MAJOR OIL FACILITIES SHUT DOWN THROUGHOUT MIDDLE EAST DUE TO STRIKES. ISRAEL LAUNCHES GROUND INVASION OF LEBANON.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events- Middle East: The Gulf War continues as Iranian forces begin shifting to strategic targets. Most of the drone/missile attacks overnight targeted oil production facilities, such as the Fujairah Industrial Zone in the UAE, which has been taken offline. Otherwise, the attacks on American installations continue, with the American Embassy in Riyadh being hit multiple times by drones overnight. Bahrain: Significant riots have broken out around the country, as the majority-Shia population begins expressing dissent with the Sunni government, and more specifically the American presence within the nation. Saudi Forces crossed the bridge this morning with anti-riot forces to help quell the more kinetic protests, which have become intense over the past 24 hours. Analyst Comment: Politics in Bahrain were complicated before the war, as the population is mostly Shia (and aligned with the Ayatollah), but the country is ruled by a Kingdom that is Sunni. Even before the shooting started the situation was tenuous at best, and the assassination of the Ayatollah might have been the spark needed to kick off a civil conflict within the island nation. This is a complicating factor for the United States, as Bahrain has long served as a major Center of Gravity for American combat power in the region. Now that some locals are getting rowdy (and are also aligned with Iran), this will make things more difficult. Lebanon: This morning Israeli forces launched a ground invasion in the south, opening up another front so as to seize terrain along the border. Lebanese Army forces have withdrawn from the border as Israeli units advance. Analyst Comment: It is not clear as to if this is a legitimate, full-scale ground invasion, or limited border incursions that Israel is known to do throughout southern Lebanon. So far, Israeli forces haven't crossed their limit of advance set during the height of the conflict two years ago. United Kingdom: A stabbing attack was reported in Edinburgh, which resulted in a standoff lasting several hours yesterday afternoon. One unidentified assailant began stabbing people an apartment building, which resulted in two people being wounded. After the attack, the suspect fled into the apartment building, which resulted in a standoff situation that lasted seven hours. Eventually, police were able to breach the building and detain the suspect. Separately, in Birmingham a different stabbing attack was captured on film this morning, which involved an assailant stabbing a man on the street outside a Catholic school in Alum Rock. This attacker was arrested at the scene, and very few details remain public regarding his identity. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Yesterday afternoon the US State Department published the list of nations that Americans should evacuate from, which includes the entire Middle East. The "depart now" order has been issued for the nations of: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the UAE, and Yemen. However, the US State Department has stated that Americans are on their own regarding evacuations. Even though the start of this combat operation was easily predicted down to the exact day (and nearly the exact hour) that it began, the United States somehow believes that they needed to maintain the element of surprise. The State Department believed that if they made attempts to evacuate the Middle East before the attack, the world would know that the war was imminent. This is also why many American bases appear to not be fortified as much as they could have been. In many cases, the Pentagon appears to not understand that their operation was very observable to the public, and their attempts to maintain the secrecy that they thought they had, resulted in little preparation in some areas. False sense of operational security aside, what this means at the moment is logistical challenges because everyone is having to sit tight for the moment until the war calms down enough to make evacuation flights reliable. A handful of flights have been able to make it in and out of Dubai, despite heavy GPS jamming efforts in the region. The governments of Britain and Poland are tentatively looking to start militarily-organized evacuation flights throughout the region over the next few days, however details are not yet solidified regarding these efforts. Italy has already conducted the military evacuation of some of their citizens from the region, who arrived back in Italy this morning. So far, the official policy of the US State Department is that US Citizens are on their own, and not a single evacuation flight of Americans has yet taken place to evacuate American citizens from the region. Right now, it might not seem like much, but time is in fact running out. Every single western-aligned Arab nation in the region is running out of interceptor missiles, with some nations reporting that they have burned through many years worth of their supply in just the past two days. Just this morning alone, the UAE blew through 172 interceptor missiles to take out 172 Iranian munitions that would have otherwise impacted targets inside their country. While it is unconfirmed hearsay at the moment, the rumor throughout the region is that the US has declined to restock these supplies, as most stockpiles of interceptor missiles have been allocated for Israel. As a result, this war is now a marathon to see who has more missiles, the Iranians or the other Persian Gulf states. At the moment, hundreds of drones and missiles are being intercepted out over the Gulf every day...the viral videos of drones slamming into targets on land are merely the munitions that have made it through missile defenses, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the true number of drones and missiles that are being launched. This has lead many to the false assumption that this war will fade away within a few days, because they can't visually see the interceptions that are taking place out over the water. However, it's now Day Four of this conflict, and the drone attacks have remained constant. When/if missile interceptors dwindle, these munitions will have nothing stopping them from reaching their targets. Last night, President Trump stated that American stockpiles of munitions are at adequate levels, and that "Wars can be fought 'forever'" at current stockpile levels of medium-grade munitions. Despite the rather unfortunate choice of vocabulary in this post, the cold hard truth is that the US has not been supplying the Arab nations that are now getting hit, with the munitions necessary for their defense, or more importantly, the defense of American assets (and citizens) in the region. This will complicate the self-evacuation of Americans over the next few weeks, in addition to sharply increasing the potential for more widespread drone strikes over the next few days.
