In an interview for #AlMayadeen, Professor Marandi highlighted that Iran will not allow additional ships to leave the Strait of Hormuz until “they implement their side of the bargain.” He noted that some ships can still enter and exit the Gulf, citing Russian, Chinese, and Iraqi vessels, explaining that “they have no problem.” Only ships linked to countries hostile to Iran, those “used by the United States” to bomb Iran, are being restricted. Professor Marandi added that, as part of the ceasefire agreement, Iran had intended to allow additional ships to pass, including vessels from those countries. However, since the United States and the Israeli regime have not upheld their side of the agreement, #Iran is withholding permission for those ships to go through. Construction on the world's largest ship tunnel, which will allow some cruise ships to pass through, is set to begin in early 2027. The proposed tunnel will be built in Norway and will be over a mile long, 165 feet high, and 120 feet wide. The Stad Ship Tunnel will cut through solid rock on the Stadlandet Peninsula and allow cargo vessels, ferries, and cruise ships to bypass the Stadhavet Sea, some of the most dangerous waters off Norway's coast. 81% of ship traffic will reportedly be able to use the tunnel. 'AF Gruppen' was recently awarded the contract for the tunnel. The construction cost of the tunnel is expected to be about $900 million. It's unclear exactly how long it will take to complete the tunnel; however, the Coastal Administration previously estimated that construction would take about five years.
