thought this was just gonna be a simple beat match but the music turning diegetic with miles is such a cute touch, it feels a little more awkward the second time but i love the concept of seeing the characters vibe out to the music they're being edited around

When the distorted guitar came in I got literal chills and then it just stopped and I was hella bummed lol. It's crazy how just using a bit of rock'n'roll makes things even better.

Syncing every single clip to the beat like this sucks and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't

the edit itself is not too complicated. most of the work is watching all of those movies and picking out scenes. then find scenes that are similar in every single movie to create those match cuts, add some sound effects and then add scenes that have aura

It’s actually not nearly as hard as you think. This one is actual one of the more simple ones I’ve seen. Still very good, but it’s all about the timing of the music beats with the action beats

It's basic cuts to the beat. The impressive thing is the amount of time these people have to spend to find fitting clips.

Most of this is understanding timing and movement, along with familiarity with the material you want to edit. I remember starting with a song and imagining clips that could fit the lyrics or energy of each part of the song whose visuals flow together. And then clipping together
