The asshole removed all the safeguards built in , including a sensor for when you aren't in the seat.

This happened to me in the neighbour’s old Versatile 400 or 4400 (?). His kid & I was taking it home for him, steering linkage broke & I’m off to the rodeo. Into the ditch, into a field, donuts. I had to find the choke to stop the engine. For some reason the GO lever wasn’t NOGO

Safety switches for operator presence (seat switch) have been removed. Likely the operator got out of the seat and bumped/grabbed steering wheel starting the spin, then was thrown from the machine. SR windrowers drive from the front large wheels only, the back are just bogeys

Don't jump on that thing. Just let it run out of diesel.

Computerize everything in the tractor, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

There’s hydraulic valves called “swash” plates. They control hydraulic flow to the wheels. We have an old Macdon that’s out of adjustment so we can’t let it sit idling in park very long because it will creep.

See flat tire and type of steering. At least it stayed in one place and didn’t head for the nearest ditch. Oh, yeah, operator failure, too.

How do people get injured by their own tractors? They don't consider the consequences. I know a lot of people who have been injured by their own tractors.

On a non-hydrostat transmission, you could just leave the gearstick in neutral and let it sit while you take your piss. But nope, can't have that anymore.

Generally there will be a seat sensor or a manual switch that will lock out all functions. Not engaging these before climbing out & hitting the lever operating this function on the way out the door

It's weird because the two back wheels are going in different directions and there seems to be no real steering? Based on this, I'd guess would be this tractor uses hydraulic motors on each rear wheel and steers like a bulldozer skid or steer (though I have never seen this on a tractor). If this is true it's not hard to imagine a malfunction or stuck control causing this.
