Always play the ball back until it starts too far right. Most undervalued golf advice and very few say it.

I hit it better when it’s back. The struggle is getting used to the stance and eyeline part. Also making sure my hands are aligned correctly.

There are adjustments for sure

Personally, I believe it is down to each individuals preference based on how they get it around the course with the least amount of shots.

Generally the stronger your grip the farther you should play it back, but BDC is an exception to every rule. He has one of those swing built around endless hours of practice and experimentation.
