What a puss. Just pull the damn filter. Also didnt see him lube the gasket on the new one AND HE USED A TOOL TO TIGHTEN IT ON CAUSE FCK THE NEXT GUY. 😆

@grok should the new filter be lubricated before installing and tightening?

Just NO. You've got to get your hands dirty. Why chance damaging the oil filter housing, which costs a lot to get replaced.

I've been a Fleet mechanic over 40 years. And you never , ever tighten oil filter in this manner

Yeah, no, don't take your car to this guy... That is NOT how to change the filter...

Unscrew with an exterior rubber clamp to grab like a hand. I will then also remove drain plug and the fill cap for a couple of minutes of drip drain with air flow assistance. Then lube filter gasket, fill filter and lightly tighten by hand and plug the pan.

So you’re the prick tightening the absolute hell out of filters using a tool. Screw you sir…Screw you.

First off, the seal should be lubricated prior to installing. Second, anyone who tightens a filter with a wrench is doing nothing but making their next oil change harder. Hand tight is all that is needed. Anything more risks damage to the threads and a fairly expensive repair.

Rookie mistake is poking your finger into the center hole of the plastic. You can rip off a piece and now you have a strip of plastic clogging up oil passages.

WRONG! Never force your thumb into the plastic directly into the threaded port. Plastic can fall into the filter, causing a clog and your engine to fail.

Been doing my own vehicle maintenance for nearly 60 years and I've never had an oil filter that openly exposed for changing.

Way over torqued. Lube up the new gasket with a little oil. What is this, amateur hour?

I have certainly used the screwdriver through the old-fashion oil filter trick before to remove a stuck filter - not to drain the oil.

Before fitting, the filter must be filled with oil and its gasket lubricated.

No lube on the gasket?

Like a 60 yr old guy trying to take a piss at 2am

No, no and no and also JACKASS only HAND TIGHTEN OIL FILTERS.

Do not use the tool to tighten only tighten by hand and don’t forget to put oil on the gasket

The only thing I didn’t mind is the cup trick. That could work. Over-tightning the filter, not lubricating the new filter’s gasket, not torquing the drain plug to spec were all problematic and probably rage bait.

Wrong, they did not lube the seal!

just get a tesla

The reason they have such shallow treads is so you only have to put them on hand tight. Wrenching them down like that will absolutely cause problems later. Also, put a little oil on the gasket before install to avoid tearing it. Puncturing the filter is questionable.

Ummmm nope. He didn't prime the filter or wet the seal.

oops forgot to put oil on the new filter gasket

Nope a few things I don’t agree with, lube the new filter gasket, don’t over tighten the filter, 1/2 to 3/4 turn after gasket contact & I pre-lube the new filter.

Get Tesla

Little oil on the seal keeps it from WELDING ON next time.

So dumb. Everyone knows you hold the filter and turn the truck

Just make sure you have a replacement first. 😄

Mechanics today, why are they so afraid of oil and getting dirty?

🤡

Didn't lube the threads, immediate retard maxxing

I’m so happy my filter is in the engine bay and not under the car

オイルフィルター交換時 パッキンにオイルをつけますか?

Clean Thing😉👍
