The last guy didn't lube the gasket either.

I could think of maybe a half a dozen things that i would have done first before putting a hole in the thing and ripping it off.

You need the right tool to do the job right. That ain’t it.

This is the most retarded thing ive seen These exist.....

Then the idiot puts it back on the same exact way it ended up stuck in the first place smfh. They are Hand Tighten! Not Wrench tighten.

$14

Wrong removal tool Bucko.

This is a crime scene, not an oil change.

Have they heard of a strap wrench? How about lube the gasket on the filter before installing? Partially fill the filter with new oil before installing? Looks like they took it to Back Yard Bob's shop.

All that to remove it and then completely over tightens the new one. Dude is his own worst enemy… hand tight is all it takes 🤦🏻

This is why #1 you lube the filter before installing it and #2 you don't wrench it down super tight. You should be able to remove it by hand.

Amateur

🤣🤣 I didn't watch until the end when he tightened it to 50 foot lbs fucking over the next guy. Hand tight dumbfucks 1/4 turn

This is every part I try to replace on my car

"Torque newly installed filter to 150 ft lbs." LOL

WTF did I just watch... you break that center thread and you are S... O.... L ! use the RIGHT tools and they ALL come off.

After all that the idiot doesnt even partially fill the oil filter or lube the gasket. Then not hand tight, cranks it back on just as tight with wrench. Gunna be the same problem for the next guy. What an asshat.

Exactly why I change my own oil

He didn't lube the gasket when he put the new filter on. History is going to repeat itself when the next person takes off that new filter.

Wait ain't you supposed to lubricant the oil filter before screwing it on

This is AI because he wasn't cussing the retard that didn't put oil on the gasket.

Try this.

That's exactly why I work on my own vehicles.

I have giant channel locks such occasions

Lube the gasket and prefill the filter before installation. Douche.

This is why I change my own oil on all my cars.

There was a Valvoline quick oil change place back in the late 80's and early 90's that just about every car they did the filters had to be removed like that. I charged extra for that extra work involved. The place finally went out of business.

Need the right tool, I have found the Nylon Strap style works great on the Chevy Trucks (random internet pic, but similar to the one I use)

Strap wrench

Hand tight?

I feel his pain

Jesus Christ

Just pointing it out...

Just as the manufacturer specs indicate.

If anyone wants to know… put a flathead screwdriver on the rim of the filter closest to the engine angled in the direction you want to turn it and give it a couple taps with a hammer it will break it free without puncturing the filter.
