It will mostly be used to create bloated sites that lag. Similar to how three.js is currently used. Not everyone runs gaming rigs to view the web.

Most likely! As with the pretext demos recently, the genuine use cases are likely more abstract and varied (I think it’ll be very helpful for UIs in browser games - achieving the optimised CSS layout mixed with canvas effects) Also means it’s much easier to build out overly complex layouts without a whole load of bloat, rather than relying on workarounds and heavy canvas operations - so perhaps this does open the door for a web that’s still annoyingly noisy but with more routes to optimisation. Who knows, seems like there’s a lot of potential in it anyway

this is true flash 2.0, if we can pull this off, and it can get approved finally, the web can be fun again?

Steve Jobs finally succeeded in getting rid of the #UX & usability nightmare that was Adobe Flash, and now we're bringing it back!

HTML-in-Canvas bridges the gap between web accessibility and creative freedom. The cloth form demo is wild. You get the physics and visual flexibility of canvas with the semantic structure of actual HTML elements. This could unlock a whole category of interactive experiences that felt impossible with pure DOM.

when you say accessible... do you mean the technology, or the implementation?

What is SEO and fallback like?

That’s the beauty of it - all valid DOM elements inside the <canvas> element, so you essentially have a completely accessible form (even shows eg error states, browser feedback, respects tab order) but you can make it as stupidly elaborate as you like!
