The Government has approved an eastern coast railway project forming part of the Howrah–Chennai High Density Network. The corridor spans from Kolkata through Odisha covering Balasore, Bhadrak, Jakhapura, Haridaspur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda and Berhampur, and extends into Andhra Pradesh through Naupada, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam up to Vijayawada and Chennai. This stretch is being developed as a four lined corridor to ease congestion and improve connectivity. The project will benefit major ports such as Kakinada, Machilipatnam and Gangavaram, strengthening cargo movement and logistics. The project includes 3 mega bridges, 58 major bridges, 416 minor bridges, 73 underpasses and 3 flyovers, along with a 2.7 km elevated railway line, with a total track length of about 458 km. Designed for high density, high capacity and high speed operations, it will address heavy traffic across the corridor. Varanasi is one of the oldest inhabited cities on earth. But it is also one of the most visited ones and the small lanes and old infra is a huge issue. It can't just be modernised because it's heritage. So the only option is to go up. Elevated roads and ropeway. The 11000 cr 43 km Varuna corridor will connect Varanasi ring road with NH31 directly, avoiding multiple bottlenecks. This will add tremendous comfort to visitors and residents both. Congrats Varanasi.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji today performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the Kaziranga Elevated Corridor Project on NH-715 at Kaliabor, Assam. The corridor will connect Kaliabor and Numaligarh and includes a 35-km elevated wildlife stretch, a bypass section, and four-laning of key stretches along the boundary of Kaziranga National Park, with an investment exceeding ₹6,950 crore. Designed to ensure safe wildlife movement, reduce human–animal conflict, and enhance road safety, it will significantly strengthen sustainable connectivity across Assam.

He says, "Yesterday, the final alignment of the Namo Bharat RRTS corridor, connecting Gurugram to Faridabad and Noida-Greater Noida, was approved. Necessary instructions were issued to the NCRTC, the agency responsible for implementing the project. Of this 64-kilometer corridor, 52 kilometers are in Haryana. In Gurugram, the corridor will begin at IFFCO Chowk and connect Sector 29, Millennium City, Sector 52, Sector 57, and Sector 61 to Gwal Pahari, connecting with the Delhi Metro's Yellow Line. In Faridabad, the corridor passes through Sainik Colony. It will connect New Faridabad, connecting NIT, Bata Chowk, and Sectors 12-15 with the Delhi Metro's Violet Line. NLC starts work on Dedicated Freight Corridor & Multimodal Logistics Park, Pipri 🇵🇰 Due to absence of rail-based freight transportation system at Karachi Port, congestion of containers has become a routine problem resulting in slow cargo movement & negative impact on economic activities. Heavy road traffic has also led to increased environmental pollution & damage to road infrastructure. The construction of Dedicated Freight Corridor and Multimodal Logistics Park at Pipri offers a long-term solution to these challenges. Ground breaking ceremony of Dedicated Freight Corridor was held with Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi and Group Chairman and CEO DP World, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem attending as chief guests. NLC will complete the project in multiple phases with USD 400 million Foreign Direct Investment. The first phase is scheduled for completion within four months. The project includes rehabilitation of a 52-kilometer railway corridor from Karachi Port to Pipri Marshalling Yard along with development of a modern Multimodal Logistics Park. It is aligned with the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Pakistan Railways’ ML-1 Project. Upon completion, import containers will be transported directly by rail from Karachi Port to Pipri and onward to destinations across Pakistan, China, Central Asia and other regional countries. The project is expected to significantly reduce container congestion at Karachi Port, streamline cargo movement, accelerate economic activity and bring marked improvements in traffic management and environmental conditions.

#Cabinet approves the construction of 117.7 km Kanpur–Kabrai Access-Controlled Greenfield Highway, a four-lane access-controlled corridor with structures designed for future six-laning, forming a key segment of the Bhopal–Kanpur Economic Corridor under the National Highways (O) Programme. With an estimated total capital cost of Rs. 7145.14 crore, the project will be implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) on BOT (Toll) mode, together with the operation and maintenance of the existing Kanpur-Kabrai section of NH-34. This means that Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi, and Thane will all become a very good economic ecosystem."

Journalist-turned-Rashbehari MLA and my senior Swapan Dasgupta wishes to transform the Kalighat area, fashioned on the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Corridor in Ujjain and Kamakhya Corridor in Assam. I wish to see the neglected area transformed, too. However, I’d humbly request the new authority to address the following issues with the said corridors while developing Kalighat: 1. Despite the fabulous Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, many first-time visitors to Varanasi do not realise that they must approach the temple from the Ganga end rather than the city end. The latter takes you through a filthy and congested lane that is in no better condition than the present state of the Kalighat neighbourhood. 2. Please do not erect Plaster of Paris statues along the corridor, as seen along the Mahakal Corridor. They look garish, aesthetically unappealing. 3. While cleaning the Adiganga canal, please do not alter its pristine nature, as the natural stream flowing down the Kamakhya hills has been altered. These waters have a spiritual value, difficult to explain to secular civil engineers. The planners must consult Shakta scholars before beginning to work on the canal.

I wish to see the neglected area transformed, too. However, I’d humbly request the new authority to address the following issues with the said corridors while developing Kalighat: 1. Despite the fabulous Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, many first-time visitors to Varanasi do not realise that they must approach the temple from the Ganga end rather than the city end. The latter takes you through a filthy and congested lane that is in no better condition than the present state of the Kalighat neighbourhood. 2. Please do not erect Plaster of Paris statues along the corridor, as seen along the Mahakal Corridor. They look garish, aesthetically unappealing. 3. While cleaning the Adiganga canal, please do not alter its pristine nature, as the natural stream flowing down the Kamakhya hills has been altered. These waters have a spiritual value, difficult to explain to secular civil engineers. The planners must consult Shakta scholars before beginning to work on the canal.

Today, PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji gifted an important infrastructure project to the people of Assam by laying the foundation for the ₹6,950 crore four-laning of the Kaliabor-Numaligarh section of the NH-715. It will reduce travel distance substantially and provide safer passage to our wild companions in Kaziranga National Park with a 35 km elevated corridor.

As promised, we were at Ologuneru this afternoon to meet with residents affected by the development of the 110 km Rashidi Ladoja Circular Road. After listening to their concerns, I restated our administration’s decision to implement the minimum 150m on each side in densely populated or built-up areas along the corridor. This covers the road and setback following best practices for such projects. Meanwhile, the 500m corridor will be implemented in areas that are not built-up. I also directed that the Oyo State New Towns and Cities Development Authority will henceforth, be in charge of all issues regarding the Circular Road Development Corridor. They will liaise with stakeholders and the representatives of affected residents to address any additional complaints. I also promised that we will ensure that adequate compensation is paid before any further demolitions take place and that the cases of residents who were inadequately compensated will be revisited.
