We are announcing the launch of Passkey, a biometric authentication for card payments that’s fully compliant with RBI's two-factor authentication framework. We launched this industry-first partnership with Mastercard and Visa. Almost a third of payment failures on cards in India trace back to OTP friction; delayed delivery, wrong entries, redirect loops. This friction literally runs into hundreds of crores in lost revenue, abandoned carts, and broken trust at the exact moment a customer decides to buy. But now, there’s no waiting for an OTP. Your fingerprint or your face and authentication & transaction is done. The authentication happens on your device, card data stays tokenised, and the whole experience becomes invisible at checkout. Razorpay’s biometric authentication delivers up to 95% transaction success rates. For businesses, that’s a great relief on the last mile.

This is so insane Wells Fargo has a real US patent titled “Smart Dust Usage” It’s a system for using tiny airborne microelectromechanical systems, commonly called “smart dust,” for biometric authentication during financial transactions Patent number US11354666B1, granted June 7, 2022 I looked into this and it’s crazy The patent mentions sensors that will - Collect biometric data like heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, motion, voice, images and more - Be released into the air near the user, like at a payment terminal - Compare that data to a user profile to verify identity before approving a payment Keep in mind this is conceptual, but this shows they are working on it The patent is for future technology. The patent itself is only about biometric authentication for payments, not programmable CBDC But you can see how this could be used for CBDC Once your identity is confirmed, the system communicates with the CBDC network. The transaction only clears if it complies with programmable rules attached to the money, Because the dust collects continuous biometric data during the transaction, the system could theoretically: - Detect “suspicious” behavior (elevated heart rate = possible coercion/fraud). - Link your purchase history, health data, political donations, church giving, books bought, etc., to your CBDC wallet. - Automatically freeze or reverse transactions that violate programmed rules. #WATCH | Delhi: Labour and Employment Secretary Sumita Dawra says, "EPFO currently has around 7.5 crore active members who maintain their PF accounts and contribute towards their pension. "We have undertaken significant work in this regard. Claims up to Rs1 lakh have been automated, self-correction mechanisms have been introduced, and unnecessary processes have been eliminated. Additionally, we have integrated databases, reducing the claim processing time to just three days. Our next step is to incorporate UPI into the system. We have received suggestions from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) regarding this integration and have submitted a proposal for EPFO's consideration. After conducting the necessary testing, we expect to roll out the UPI front end for EPFO claims by the end of May. This will benefit all members, as they will be able to view their EPFO accounts directly in the UPI interface and make auto-claims. The approval process will be instant If the consumer is eligible, ensuring quick credit to their accounts. Stabilizing the centralized database will take around two to three weeks, after which the front end for UPI integration will be ready."

(2) Tap on the "Register My Aadhaar" card button located at the top of the app. (3) Now, create a 4-digit password for the app. (4) You will now be asked to enter Aadhaar number and security captcha. (5) After this, you need to ask for OTP. This is sent to the registered mobile number on your Aadhar card. You can check your phone's SMS app for the OTP.
