I asked the Prime Minister whether pulling the rug out from under migrant care workers is un-British. They do jobs we need, work hard and pay their taxes. Changing the rules halfway through is unfair. Over 50 MPs back my Parliamentary Motion opposing this cruel change.

The public believe in fair play: hard work and playing by the rules should matter. Migrant care workers do vital work, often in tough conditions for low pay. It’s un-British to rip up the rules & pull the rug from under them. Divisive for communities. Bad for public services.

Shuler: Workers are fed up with an entire political system that they feel is getting in the way. So what we can do here as elected officials—what you all can do—is invest in good union jobs. When people see you investing in good union jobs, they feel hopeful. They feel hopeful for the future, and they can say firsthand, “I’m seeing the change. I feel the change for myself and my family.” Therefore, they become invested. As a woman who came up through the IBEW, I know this is an opportunity for women and people of color to engage in a pathway to the middle class in a way that we haven’t seen before through these good union jobs. This is an opportunity to bring people back into good jobs and back into our democracy if we do it right.

How do we think this is normal? This is all by design. This is what they wanted, two parents who work and still don't have enough time for everything they need, while the government is raising our children. Having women join the work force they doubled on all the taxes, while it's meant to destroy the family unit from the inside out.
