I ate a gummy Monday night before rewatching Changing Lanes & had a blast. This is a film that’s legitimately thrilling. Pitting a young Ben Affleck vs. Samuel L. Jackson was an interesting casting choice that totally paid off. Hell, the entire cast in this film is amazing.

X2 is a beautiful comic book film & in a lot of ways, was a little ahead of its time. This opening sequence with Nightcrawler is really difficult to forget. Alan Cumming was perfect to play Nightcrawler. Hell, this entire cast is perfect. This film also still looks great visually

Ben Affleck gave a really strong performance in the George Clooney-directed film The Tender Bar. Affleck’s performance is heartfelt & mature. I thought this had an opening for a potential Oscar nomination, but it’s still some of Ben’s best work as an actor. An overall good film.

Best in Show is one of the first “mockumentaries” I can ever remember seeing. Catherine O’Hara couldn’t be funnier in this film. It’s not possible. This entire cast is amazing & this film is a throwback to the early ‘00s. I’m really going to miss O’Hara. We lost a giant.

Die Hard with a Vengeance is a film I’m always recommending to friends & family who haven’t seen it because it’s the perfect summer action flick. Bruce Willis & Samuel L. Jackson have had great chemistry together across multiple films, but this is their best together. Jeremy Irons is also excellent as the heavy. That’s all without mentioning that New York City plays its own character in this film. A film I love.

James Gandolfini gave such a memorable performance in Killing Them Softly. I like this film more than most & Jim is the best part of this movie. In rewatching The Sopranos, it’s so apparent that Gandolfini could do anything as an actor. He’s raw as hell in this film & this scene.

Django is the better film by a noticeable margin in my book, even though I’m a huge advocate for The Hateful Eight (the writing is superb.) But Leo, Waltz, Foxx & of course, Samuel L. Jackson, are truly out of this universe here. This is some of the best acting in any QT film.

Jon Favreau’s Chef is a really well-done original film that doesn’t get talked about enough. I consider this a rewatchable comfort film that’s both funny & sad. The cast is also excellent- Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman & RDJ just to name a few. Favreau’s talent is endless.

The Lincoln Lawyer is what I consider to be the definition of a guilty pleasure film. I’m a lawyer myself & I can’t begin to tell you how inaccurate this film is legally, but it’s entertaining as hell. This was before Matthew McConaughey went on a legendary Hollywood comeback.

Robert De Niro has only directed two feature films- A Bronx Tale & here with The Good Sheperd. This film turns 20 this year & it’s an interesting story about one of the CIA’s founding officers, played by Matt Damon. The casting here is exceptional. This is totally worth watching.

Austin Butler’s casting in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is the stuff that makes for real Hollywood lore. Of all the young actors Tarantino had the vision to cast in this film, Butler’s appearance is my favorite. I’ll never forget Butler’s “I’m as real as a donut” line delivery.

I could only give After the Hunt two stars. This feels exactly like a two-star film largely because the tone of this story is totally off, in addition to the fact this is just a boring movie. I’m disappointed with Luca Guadagnino. I love him dearly but this film was a misfire.

Galaxy Quest is flawless. A totally perfect comedy. This film is at the top of the list whenever I need something to make me laugh- the satire is killer. Not to mention the casting is unbelievable- every last actor in this film is hilarious, especially Alan Rickman. I love this.

An amazing display of choreography in this Taiwanese film. With an amazing cast that has Eugene Thomas, Yukari Oshima, Yasuaki Kurata & Pauline Lan and many more (Karl Maka) Kylie Chi 季 🇵🇸🏳️‍🌈 this is the type of film you would do 😅

Smokin’ Aces slander is not tolerated in my household. You don’t get to talk shit about a film that includes Ray Liotta, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Piven, Chris Pine, Jason Bateman and Andy Garcia. Back off. I love this film’s style, cast & setting (Vegas, baby). Put some respect on it.

The Town is the best crime thriller since…its release. There has not been a better heist/robbery film made since Ben Affleck directed the shit out of this movie in 2010. Affleck captured something so raw & so real here. It’s nearly impossible to recreate. This is a masterpiece.
