The 25-to-29 cohort hit 7.7 percent, its highest reading since March 2025. Overall urban unemployment reached 5.4 percent, a 13-month peak. A record 12.7 million university graduates, roughly half a million more than the prior year, are entering this market, into an economy whose nominal growth has been depressed by a year of falling prices and whose private sector hiring appetite has shrunk in lockstep. The official figures, in any case, understate the condition of the labor market by design. My jaw dropped listening to this There are people gaming the foster care system making $26,000 per month. If they can get their kids on medications and have them fail classes, they get paid more money (WOW) “That's how bad people are making money out of foster care. So I go to this adoption assistant program — I meet this one woman and she's like, "Oh yeah, what you wanna do is you wanna get a D-rate kid." I was like, "What's a D-rate kid? What does that mean?" And she goes, "Oh honey, I make $28,000 a month off foster care." And I was like, "What?" And she was like, "Yeah, because I have this many kids." And she goes, "Here's the thing. You wanna make sure they fail in school. If they fail in school and you can get them on medication, your rate goes up." Every time they don't pass a grade, your rate goes up because they're a more difficult kid. Every time they need a medication, your rate goes up. I think the intentions of increasing the rate was to incentivize good people to stick with it. What it did is incentivize all the wrong people. This is the faculty from Columbus University standing in solidarity with the students who support the “peaceful” group called Hamas. What part of Hamas is peaceful? I find it interesting that they talk of peace but they support the students calling for the genocide of Israel? That’s peace? If that’s what they are teaching at this university, then there’s a lot of faculty that needs to be fired. I mean… You can’t make this stuff up. This is a state university! Should faculty be taking part in this protest?
