Pretty sad it took 59 years for a sitting congressman to give these men this kind of recognition on the House floor. 34 Americans were killed, more than 170 were wounded, and the survivors still had to fight just to have their story heard. Credit to Massie for honoring them and making sure they aren’t forgotten.

You’re ridiculous. In the middle of a desperate multi-front war for its survival, Israel ‘decided’ to deliberately attack a U.S. ship? That’s peak tinfoil idiocy. Multiple official U.S. Navy, CIA, and congressional inquiries concluded it was a tragic case of mistaken identity – Israel thought it was an Egyptian vessel in the fog of war, with communication failures on both sides. Israel apologized immediately, paid compensation, and the findings hold after 10+ U.S. investigations. The multiple passes and torpedoes? Standard attack on what they believed was a hostile Egyptian ship (similar profile to El Quseir). They stopped once they realized the error. No motive makes sense – risking alienating their only major ally mid-existential fight? Laughable. This conspiracy gets recycled by the usual suspects to smear Israel, ignoring the actual inquiries

This Meeting Was Never Supposed to Happen The USS Liberty survivors were not supposed to live long enough to sit with @RepThomasMassie . Survivor Bryce Lockwood explains in the clip below how one desperate Mayday saved the USS Liberty. One Mayday escaped. The ship survived. The truth survived. The 🧵 shows the NSA/CSS record: Isræl identified the USS Liberty at 10:55, erased it at 11:00, and attacked it at 14:00.

USS Liberty was sent into the danger zone without escort, same as the Lusitania. Israel jammed the signals and attacked. when an SOS signal finally made it out, the US government issued orders for any possible aid to stand down. The audio from the ship is possibly in a vault.
