Подальша військова допомога, додаткові внески в програму PURL, дипломатична робота заради досягнення миру, енергетична підтримка – ключове, про що говорили з канцлером. Обговорили також перші вагомі результати спільного українсько-німецького виробництва дронів. Саме така співпраця робить наші країни сильнішими. Обговорили, як масштабувати. Дякую Німеччині за внесок у захист життів під час повномасштабної російської війни, зокрема за постачання систем ППО, які врятували життя тисяч і тисяч наших людей.

In my view this call between Zelensky and Merz is less abt friendship and more abt locking in Germany as Ukraine's industrial backbone before any peace talks force a pause in weapons flows. The practical reality is that Germany has the factories and the cash, and Ukraine has the battle tested designs and desperate need; so joint drone production means Berlin gets a say in future tech while Kyiv gets systems without waiting on slow foreign aid votes. Merz, being the opposition leader who might run things soon, is basically placing his bet now so when he's in charge, the Ukraine Germany pipeline is already humming. The funny part is that a country that spent decades being scared of military stuff is now basically running a shadow arms industry out of Kyiv.

During my meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tsahkna, we discussed further support for Ukraine. The main focus was on energy and defense assistance, cooperation with partners within the Coalition of the Willing, strengthening air defense capabilities, and additional contributions to the PURL initiative. We also addressed the diplomacy aimed at peace, as well as concrete steps to pressure Russia. Finalizing the EU’s 20th sanctions package and blocking Russia’s tanker fleet are among the key measures. And this is the right signal of support for Ukraine and of the courage of Germany and all of Europe. But Germany is not only helping Ukraine – we are helping each other. Germany is a leader in Europe in the scale of assistance provided to Ukraine — from financial aid and weapons to strengthening our air defense. This includes 6 IRIS-T systems, 3 Patriot systems, and Gepard anti-aircraft guns. All this support has saved thousands of lives. We are grateful to the Bundestag for the decision to provide an additional 3 billion euros to Ukraine. In total, German support this year will amount to 7 billion euros. We are grateful that German support for Ukraine remains unwavering and stable. We thank Germany, its Government, and all the German people for their significant assistance.

We signed a Drone Deal agreement with Denmark. This is already Ukraine’s ninth such agreement, and it is important that more and more partners are joining this format, which opens up greater opportunities for joint defense production, the exchange of expertise, and transparency in weapons exports. Together, we are building a new security architecture. I thank Denmark, and personally Mette, for this step toward strengthening our shared defense. It was with Denmark that we began joint production in Ukraine under the Danish model, and it is absolutely fair that Denmark will now have access to Ukrainian exports of weapons tested in war. Today, we also discussed with the Prime Minister Statsministeriet the strengthening of our air defense and work on European anti-ballistic defense. It is extremely important for us right now to receive Patriot missiles as quickly as possible and to jointly develop our own European capabilities to counter ballistic threats. I thank Denmark for its continued support for our people – for its defense and financial assistance, and for all its contributions to the PURL initiative.

We explored new ideas that could help reinforce air defense and protect our people. It is crucial to enhance coordination among partners in the face of Russia’s growing production of ballistic missiles. I thank the Prime Minister for the Netherlands’ support of the PURL initiative and for the many important steps taken to assist our country since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

During a meeting with Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide, I thanked him for such substantial assistance and for all the support packages for the military and energy sectors. I thank Norway for its assistance since the very beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression. We discussed the energy situation in Ukraine. An important and substantive meeting with Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz Friedrich Merz. I am grateful for supporting Ukraine and organizing today’s meetings – the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Thank you for showing genuine unity and leadership at this time. We discussed our recent contacts with partners and further engagement with allies, the increase in defense support, Germany’s participation in the new PURL initiative, the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense with two additional Patriot systems and missiles for them, and reliable security guarantees. An important and substantive meeting with Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz Friedrich Merz. I am grateful for supporting Ukraine and organizing today’s meetings – the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Thank you for showing genuine unity and leadership at this time. We discussed our recent contacts with partners and further engagement with allies, the increase in defense support, Germany’s participation in the new PURL initiative, the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense with two additional Patriot systems and missiles for them, and reliable security guarantees. We share a common understanding – as long as Russia takes no steps toward peace, we must continue to exert pressure on it and strengthen support for Ukraine. This is very important. I met with the Chief of the UK Defence Staff, Admiral Sir Tony Radakin 🇬🇧, and his successor, ACM Harv Smyth Sir Richard Knighton. We discussed further support for Ukraine: the situation on the front lines, the needs of our warriors and the deliveries of necessary weapons, funding for Ukrainian drone production, and joint projects. We also spoke about diplomatic efforts to end the war and achieve a real and lasting peace. We must intensify our work to the maximum and ensure clarity and transparency in everything related to security guarantees. That is why we also discussed in detail the efforts of national security advisers on security guarantees for Ukraine and the developments within the Coalition of the Willing. I thank the Admiral, the United Kingdom, its Government, and its people for strengthening us from the very beginning of this war, and for consistently standing by our side.

As always, a good and productive meeting with Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre. We discussed in detail our cooperation in the production and use of drones. Our experience is already being used in the Middle East and the Gulf. We are improving defense against “shahed” drones, and we believe this should also be done in Europe. Today, for this purpose, we initiated a Drone Deal with Norway and signed a Joint Declaration on Enhanced Defense and Security Cooperation. Now our teams will work out the details. We also focused on our joint production projects and cooperation priorities for this year, and not only in defense. We continue to work together with partners to strengthen our countries. I personally thank Jonas, Norway, and all Norwegians for their military and energy support for Ukraine, for strengthening our air defense, and for their readiness to continue support for the PURL initiative. We feel your support and are sincerely grateful for it.

A new important step in our defense cooperation with the Netherlands – today, our countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding concerning Coproduction of drones. This is one of the promising areas of our bilateral cooperation. I thank the Government, the Prime Minister, and all the people of the Netherlands for their support of Ukraine – since the start of the full-scale war, it has already reached nearly $9 billion. I am also grateful for their contribution within the PURL initiative – around $600 million. Support for this initiative sends signals and sets examples for other partners. During today’s meeting with the Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius, Ruben Brekelmans, we discussed the development of joint drone production, the implementation of the initiative, and collaboration with the Netherlands in this area. I am grateful for the meeting and for all the efforts made to support our people.

Today, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is visiting Ukraine for the seventh time. Thank you for supporting our state and for all of Germany’s assistance since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression – more than EUR 28.6 billion over this period. This is a significant strengthening of our defense. We discussed the development of joint defense production. We can already count on six projects. Ukraine’s proposal to work with Germany in the Drone Deal format is also on the table. We expect that we will be able to make this happen. We also value our agreements on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, which were signed in April. This is important for protecting our energy infrastructure. Europe must be self-sufficient in defending against any threats, especially ballistic ones. We discussed how we can move forward in this direction. Special attention was given to the diplomatic process for achieving peace and to Europe’s place in it. A lot depends on Europe, both in the peace process and in the reconstruction of our country.

During the meeting with President Gitanas Nausėda, we discussed, first and foremost, support for Ukraine’s energy system. Russia attacks our energy sector every day. I informed Gitanas about this and also about Ukraine’s needs to strengthen energy resilience and air defense. Thank you for the support – Lithuania has already taken a decision to help Ukrainian cities and communities by transferring almost one hundred generators. We also discussed military cooperation, joint defense projects and Lithuania’s proposal to launch a weapons export platform in Vilnius, support for the PURL initiative, and cooperation within the SAFE instrument. Diplomacy was also among the most important issues on the agenda. I shared the latest details of diplomatic efforts toward peace, including the meetings in Abu Dhabi involving the Ukrainian, American, and Russian delegations. Ukraine, as always, is doing everything possible on its part to bring the war to an end.

I met with the leadership of the Spanish engineering and technology group Sener Aerospace & Defence. Today, Ukrainian manufacturers signed four cooperation documents here, three of which are specifically with Sener. The agreements concern establishing cooperation in the missile sector and air defense. This is what will strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s skies. We discussed production capabilities and bolstering Ukraine’s air defense. Strengthening air defense and protecting lives are our top priorities. We are also interested in joint projects in the field of long-range drone production. Ukraine has new developments and is ready to scale them up. We expect that all agreements between Ukrainian and Spanish manufacturers will be implemented as soon as possible. Thank you for your support and readiness to work together.
