These 3 clips were each generated once with: • Seedance 2.5 • Seedance 2.0 • Minimax H3 No cherry-picking. No rerolls. And I’m not naive — I’m sure local models will eventually catch up. Another Hailuo AI (MiniMax) H3 test, this time looking at audio reference and performance (A little NSFW language on end of this one!). I recorded the dialogue as an audio track and fed that in as a reference with a image reference of the man. In the text prompts I gave some direction to the actor (Like the look to camera at the end). I think the model did a brilliant job of matching the performance to the words and emotion that were in the audio ref. Unlike Seedance 2.0 I didn't have to feed in black video or write the words in the prompt to get the words correct. It seemed to use the exact audio from the reference I provided, which is what you want when using voice actors. Things are getting real... fast

Sora 2 automatically adds music, which instantly makes the video feel polished. But Seedance 2.0 handles shot breakdown and pacing better, it feels more like a professionally edited sequence.

Second go with MiniMax Design (H3) #MiniMaxH3 This time I ran gritty Midjourney v8.2 stills through H3 and used a Suno track as reference. Big takeaway: simpler prompts worked better. H3 understood the intent, stayed close to the original aesthetic, and synced the movement to the track surprisingly well. There are a few mangled faces and hands in there, but most of that came from imperfections in the source stills rather than H3 breaking the motion. This was just a quick test, so I left them in. I also used a vérité-style camera block and crash zooms to make the footage feel less controlled and more observed. Handheld movement, slight focus breathing and subtle background drift gave the shots a much more natural feel. Prompt block for the vérité camera work in the next post 👇
