Let's choose the corruption-free rally at Kololo airstrip and other major regional grounds as the most appropriate option instead of street demonstrations. Dialogue is a better choice than violence, which can emerge from demonstrations. Security has warned that wrong elements may take advantage of peaceful protesters to commit violence and crimes against civilians, their businesses, and property. The President @KagutaMuseveni has offered the Kololo airstrip for the corruption free rally, which can take place from morning to evening. Let's opt for peaceful rallies other than violence which may emerge from protests . We can be heard peacefully! Let’s maintain peace in Central business district ! @mkainerugaba @PoliceUg @AntiGraft_SH @IGGUganda

This evening, I joined staff in Office of the Prime Minister - Uganda for our twice-a-month physical exercise at the Nakasero Primary School playground. This physical exercise programme follows a Cabinet directive requiring Ministries, Departments and Agencies to conduct physical exercise sessions for their staff to combat lifestyle diseases. I commend the staff for embracing this programme and encourage them to continue. Exercise is therapy & only healthy people can do the work effectively. I hosted H.E Vladlen Semivolos, the outgoing Russian ambassador to Uganda, at State House Entebbe today. I congratulated him on completing his tour of duty and praised his efforts in ensuring the continued warmth and cooperation between our countries and peoples. I wish him success in his future endeavors. Later, H.E Virginie Leroy, the French Ambassador to Uganda called on me to deliver a message and an invitation from H.E Emmanuel Macron for the upcoming France - Africa summit in Nairobi next month, with Uganda participating. INSPECTION REPORT ON GULU REGIONAL REFERRAL HOSPITAL (GRRH) Today, I conducted an inspection visit to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital to assess service delivery, engage with the hospital’s top management and staff, and inspect ongoing infrastructure projects. A key area of concern was the staff housing project, for which UGX 6.229 billion was allocated in 2014 for the construction of 52 staff housing units. The project was initially scheduled for completion in 2017. Following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, both the project cost and completion timeline were revised, with the new completion date set for March 2023. Regrettably, despite the significant public investment and the extension granted, there is currently no visible progress on the ground. This raises serious concerns regarding accountability and the management of public resources. I have since engaged the Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit Anti Corruption Unit - State House Uganda, who has assured me that they will provide an update on the current status of the matter, as the Unit has taken interest in the project. We look forward to a thorough investigation and appropriate action to ensure accountability for any misuse of government funds. On a positive note, I held productive discussions with the hospital’s top management and departmental heads and toured various sections of the facility. I am pleased to report that Gulu Regional Referral Hospital is doing tremendous work in delivering healthcare services despite the challenges it faces. I commend the management and staff for their commitment, dedication, and continued service to the people of Uganda. The Government remains committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure, promoting accountability, and ensuring that every public resource is used for its intended purpose to improve service delivery. This morning, I flagged off emergency food relief to Karamoja sub-region at the headquarters of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) in Bugolobi, Kampala. This follows a directive from H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni to support communities affected by the prolonged dry spell. The extended dry spell has disrupted agricultural production, depleted household food stocks, and increased the risk of food insecurity in the sub-region. We are going to deliver 9,419,610 kilograms of relief food, comprising maize flour and dry beans, to 313,987 households across 480 parishes in the nine districts of Karamoja. My office is coordinating the exercise in partnership with the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) , Uganda Prisons Service Uganda police, and local governments to ensure efficient, and transparent distribution of the food relief. I thank Sam Engola , the Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Esther Anyakun Davinia 🦋 , the Minister of State for Karamoja, Alioni Yorke Odria , the Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, Lt. This morning, I flagged off emergency food relief to Karamoja sub-region at the headquarters of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) in Bugolobi, Kampala. This follows a directive from H.E. President Yoweri K Museveni to support communities affected by the prolonged dry spell. The extended dry spell has disrupted agricultural production, depleted household food stocks, and increased the risk of food insecurity in the sub-region. We are going to deliver 9,419,610 kilograms of relief food, comprising maize flour and dry beans, to 313,987 households across 480 parishes in the nine districts of Karamoja. My office is coordinating the exercise in partnership with the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), the Uganda Peoples' Defence Forces (UPDF) , Uganda Prisons Service Uganda police, and local governments to ensure efficient, and transparent distribution of the food relief. I thank Sam Engola , the Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Esther Anyakun Davinia 🦋 , the Minister of State for Karamoja, Alioni Yorke Odria , the Minister of State for ICT and National Guidance, Lt. Gen. James Mugira, NEC Managing Director and MPs from Karamoja, for taking part in this important event.
