The image editing/cleanup Apple Intelligence feature needs Wi-Fi?

Pretty disappointing to see @apple join the “ship nonsense now and promise magical features in the future” type of AI hype scams like @mkbhd has been reporting on. I hope it improves.

Jesus Christ how do you do literally everything wrong. 1. Personal Context is not available yet for Siri so it cannot tell when your next flight is unless you have it saved in reminders right now. 2. You need to select the text you want to use Writing Tools for. You selected no text so it didn’t work. 3. Apple Clean Up tool needs to download the on-device model first before you use it. Download it first then it’ll work offline.

Hall of fame misleading posts. Every part of this thread perfectly crafted to make it look as bad as possible. - Siri personal context hasn't shipped at all yet - You purposefully didn't select any text when you did Writing tools to make it look nonfunctional. You also added "Perhaps I should select the text instead" showing you knew exactly what you needed to do and just wanted to make it look broken - Lied about clean up requiring WiFi when you just hadn't downloaded the model yet. (By this logic, every feature requires WiFi because its needed to download the software update)

It’s crazy. Advanced voice mode from OpenAI should basically be Siri with access to your iCloud. Siri is 13 years old and still sucks. How?
