I am pleased to announce that Odisha has received its due share in the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Addressing the media, I expressed my gratitude for the budget, stating that the state’s demands, put forth during the pre-budget meeting, have been met. The FM Nirmala Sitharaman ji is saying whatever she is being advised. She mentions that the Tamil Nadu government has committed nearly ₹4 lakh crore of debt. I want to ask if the minister is speaking about the Tamil Nadu budget or the Indian government budget. Because the Tamil Nadu election will take place soon, she is mentioning things which have nothing to do with this House. This is not fair. The CS has gone at length to explain to Kenyans what is contained in the budget estimates and what is contained in the Finance Bill. I think if this budget is implemented properly, it will change the lives of Kenyans, and it will make this country move forward. So long as government exists, borrowings never end

We in Karnataka are proud that state’s own tax revenue (SOTR) contributes 77% our revenue receipts. Perhaps the highest of any state in India. It’s a self-reliant state. We get so little from the central govt, as a share of our budget it’s probably the lowest in the whole country. This despite paying the second highest taxes in the country. #NDRF #TaxDevaluation #Karnataka

The budget has doubled over the last decade, 2.5 times the rate of inflation. And we know that there is a huge amount of fraud going on in the budget that no one has even scratched the surface of. Newsom has vetoed audits that would get to the bottom of some of that fraud. Why would you ever do that? We need audits. Before you propose new and unprecedented taxes, I think you have an obligation to taxpayers to make sure that their money is being well spent. The first place to look is with all this fraud. We've seen it in Minnesota. We all know the fraud is there. Root that out first before you go back to taxpayers for more and drive job creators out of the state.

Today, I presented the 2026 Budget Estimates of ₦1.6 trillion to the Delta State House of Assembly. The 2026 Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda is centred on making life better for Deltans and residents. Of the ₦1.6 trillion, ₦499 billion, representing 30 per cent of the total budget, is for recurrent expenditure, while ₦1.166 trillion, representing 70 per cent, is allocated to capital expenditure. In concluding my presentation, I placed on record that the State Assembly has proved to be a worthy partner in the implementation of our policies and programmes. I ended my remarks by inviting the Honourable House to kindly and speedily consider and approve the appropriation request, so that, collectively, we can work towards building the Delta State of our dreams, where no one is left behind.

In every Budget, one doesn't get an opportunity to name every state of this country. For example, the Cabinet in June had taken a decision to set up a port on Vadhavan in Maharashtra. More than Rs 76,000 crores have been allocated for that. Maharashtra's name wasn't mentioned in the Vote on Account Budget in February, nor was it taken yesterday. Does it mean that Maharashtra got ignored? Yesterday, the TMC questioned the Budget saying nothing has been given to West Bengal. Let me just highlight the fact that the several schemes given by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the last 10 years have not been implemented in West Bengal. Bengal Government should correct its course. If a particular state is not named in the speech, does it mean that schemes and programs of Government of India, the externally aided assistance which we get from the World Bank, ADB and other such institutions don't go to these states? They go as per the routine. This is a deliberate attempt of the Opposition parties, led by the Congress, to give an impression to people that nothing has been given to our states. This is an outrageous allegation. I would challenge the Congress party for all the budget speeches that they have delivered - have they named all the states of the country? - Smt Nirmala Sitharaman during her intervention in Rajya Sabha.
