I just added a new visual to that shows precise timing data for when block templates are received from pools. Looking at them from this timing perspective makes it easy to spot similarities and patterns between pools. 1/

If pools were actually independent, you would expect to see a lot of variance in when they send out new block templates. For example, this group of pools is sending templates ~1 second apart and then again ~7 seconds later. These are obviously copying/proxying each other. 2/

Here's an example of pools operating independently based on timing data. These templates arrive at completely different times from each other. While TrustPool and ViaBTC are proxying each other, they show no timing correlation with any other groups in this screenshot. 3/

One nuance to be aware of is that most of these pools merge mine with other chains and it seems like they send out new work whenever the associated chain finds a block (they update the template's AuxPOW or OP_RETURN with a new hash). I plan on showing this detail eventually end/

You are doing the lords work!

Excellent analysis with insightful visuals! What’s your thoughts on @Public_Pool_BTC ?

@bithydra Love your visualization did you custom build the graphics or are you using a library

@bithydra Thanks. Pretty much everything is just custom shapes and styling. For the main components, the app is written in node/nextjs, so I'm using the shadcn table component for the main table and just using Canvas for the chart.

Great work! Further exposing centralized pools. It's clear that @ocean_mining and its technology must be adopted to increase Bitcoin mining decentralization

yo this is fantastic stuff, are you on nostr? would love to zap

good job, if I could understand it more I would be happy
