I love how the Tesla Spring Update brought over the rear display map from Robotaxi. It’s great for your passengers while on a roadtrip. They can interact and see the route/remaining time.

It’s pretty amazing how stable the Robotaxi felt over large puddles. The Tesla AI team did a lot of hydroplaning tests and it definitely showed during my time there.

HEAD TO HEAD: WAYMO VS TESLA ROBOTAXI Although Waymo has operated its robotaxi service for several years, Tesla Robotaxi already offers more confident and comfortable rides for passengers. Don't believe me? Check out the side-by-side video below comparing Waymo and Tesla Robotaxi entering Terry Black's BBQ parking lot. Waymo struggles to detect the entrance's sudden steepness, carrying excessive speed and nearly bottoming out. The Tesla Robotaxi on the hand confidently detects the steep entrance and comfortably traverses it without jarring the passengers onboard. As someone prone to car sickness, I experienced no nausea during my 2.5+ hours riding in a Tesla Robotaxi yesterday, even while using my phone. An interesting issue with Tesla Robotaxi where it took us to a Starbucks, but the Google data had the incorrect location. At drop off we were 0.2 miles from the Starbucks, so we had a short walk. Is there a way the Tesla AI team could add functionality in the app so riders can update map info to correct errors or inaccuracies on the underlying map data and then this propagates to the fleet? Being able to do this with a pin drop on the map instead of having to use an address might make this very easy and user friendly! Or, as a bigger ask, would it be possible for the car to be able to use visual images on its own to look for a Starbucks sign and on the fly, get us closer and update the map data on its own?

The Tesla Cybertruck makes it hard to see emergency vehicles behind me. The digital rear view mirror does not get your attention like a real mirror does. In certain lighting conditions is nearly impossible to see the flashing lights. The cop had to turn on his siren to even get my attention. Tesla can easily solve this via a software update. They could use AI to identify emergency vehicles and make a chime to get the drivers attention.

That's a wrap! In the last 36 hours, I've taken a total of 20 Tesla Robotaxi rides and traveled 92 miles. No interventions, no critical safety issues. All my rides were smooth and comfortable. Thank you, Tesla, for letting me be a part of this experience—and congrats to the whole team on launching the first paid Robotaxi rides! This is the start of a new era. The Robotaxi app is great. My two bits of feedback: allow us to adjust the pickup spot, and enable dropping a pin within the geofenced area so we can more precisely choose where we want to go.
