I made a tool that bakes NormalizedCrow's FeathersAndFur Shader into the main mesh. This makes it work in fallback, with other shaders like poiyomi, improves performance, and lets you export to external software like Blender!

Bro is from the sims

Thanks to skuval and many others for feedback and testing!

This is amazing, Feathers and fur shader + audiolink !!!!!! (please excuse my quick/poor implementation xD)

Haha hell yeah <3

How were the fur cards made in of itself?

With this:

Ayo this looks incredible, what is the gryphon avatar from?

"Fluffy Gryphon" by ManyBlinkingLights, with the FIK Edit by Purpzie.

👀 SO WAIT this actually creates the fur card geometry on the mesh????? hell yea

It copies the feathers from the shader and appends them to the base mesh, yeah ^^

w torvid moment

Holy shit torvid you came in clutch i was making a model for the first time, going great and i just got to the adding feathers part, awesome to see :>

This is the feather shader/tool used:

I have it too :>

You will be baked, and then there will be cake.

is it supposed to take hours to bake.... for somereason mine just wont bake

no, it should take a couple seconds. If it's taking a long time something has gone wrong, check the console to see if it has printed some kind of error.

However it is working now. It would never sit errors because it would never finish

If it encounters an error, the progress bar remains, which may make it look like it’s still doing something even though it’s actually crashed. If you can interact with the rest of unity’s UI, that means it’s crashed and there is likely an error in the console.

Works amazing with large fur cards, but unless I'm doing something wrong, it seems to cull a lot of densely packed small cards

Yeah this seems to be some kind of bug, other people have pointed it out something similar. I'll take a look at it for the next version :>
