"My favorite spell creates a field of flowers"

mmmm - that's giving me ideas!!

here I got you this

haha - i do need to sleep

also working on flower fields, but in unity

looks great!!

🔥🔥🔥

thanks!!

nice!

thanks!

is this webgl under the hood?

webgpu!

Great job bro honestly

thanks!!

Extremely relatable watching this unfold. You started off making a game with interesting mechanics, then focused on changing the game from text to 2d beat em up, then to 3d "something" that lost most of the mechanics, then to procedural generated flowers (which look sick)

oh it never started as text - it was originally a 2D ugc platform.

Whatever this was I mean

oh yeah - that was a *side quest* experiment of what inkwell could look like. there were like 10 versions or so before that.

i have procedural vegetation in my game and i am yearning for a way to blend geometric plants with a volumetric far field that integrates the same hash distributions into voxelish fragments or something but i haven't gotten to experimenting with it much

screenshots of what you do have so far??

love the vibes bro

thanks hira!!

bees next?

gotta have some bees, butterflies and mushrooms right?

make them pollinate the other flowers!

ohhhh yeah - that is cuteee haha

hey james 👋 this is awesome stuff ❤️ sent you a DM over at discord :)

will check!

amazing, thx for sharing. I open sourced everything too because i've learned everything from all the kind sharing of open-sourced projects.

thanks!! :D

its wild to me but kind of obvious that once you have the seeds for procedural generation in place you can get some many tools rapidly ... this is awesome.

yeah, there's a few tricks like instancing etc that can be re-used. i had a bunch of things that i'd made and decided to open-source it all at once!

But dude you didnt make it the ai did /s :P

is that so

I hope you know that was sarcasm

if you want to jam on some procedural / gen ai tools, i made a discord:

Don’t forget LOD. It already looks quite jerky in your demo.

it already uses lod :)
