For those mentioning the incandescent bulb, they use them still because of night vision goggles. At one point it was an FAA regulation I believe but don’t quote me.

No thank you. I got offered this job, changing the FAA bulbs on a 150' telecomm tower. Was offered $50/hr in 1999. Made it up 50'. I could not go higher. Tried all day long, up & down for 8 hours in training. Oh, I trusted my safety equipment. The height was killing me. 😂

When I first moved into my house there was an incandescent lightbulb in the fixture on my front portico that was on all night long for over 15 years before it finally burned out. When I changed it, I inspected it to find the brand name. But the only marking on it said “Poland”.

You say that til you actually have to climb the tower. My dad was a tower climber/builder. That shit isn't for the weak. My dad even had leftover tower scrap he let me and my brother climb on and you best hope you're two likes are connected cause one slip can end it all
