I need Danielle or someone from her team to explain this to me because this isn't making sense. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith: "Let's have an aggressive target to double our population." Smith wants to get Alberta's population to 10m people so we can be taken seriously by the federal...

She has ZERO children. I have FIVE. They’re all Albertan. I was born here. Perhaps she should give tax breaks to parents AFTER the first kid. We need more children. I did my part. We need a premier with multiple kids 🇨🇦

You will be surprised how often I hear from people "she has zero children. I have..." as concern to policy. I agree. Encourage with policy for Albertans to have more kids. It will also give more time organically to build things around it.

I'm not sure how Canada was such a great nation in 1967 when it's population was only 20 million. We had more respect and more of an impact on the world than we do right now. Mass migration only serves one group of people: Canada's oligarchs.

To be fair, I think Danielle Smith is looking at a political problem and trying to solve it with a political solution. Problem? Ontario and Quebec have so much population and MPs that Alberta (and Western Canada's) votes are negated. Solution? More people = more MPs, more power.

Political solutions divergent from socio/economics has gotten Canada every single issue that is ruining this country.

We don’t need to, the problem with politicians is the minute that they’re sitting in those seats, they seem to lose their spines.

Besides that the big problem is even if the government changes the public sector bloat and middle managers that are mismanaging all the portfolios are still there and status quo continues.

Smith did an event in Red Deer stating Red Deer could be the next million person city in AB. Even council rolled their eyes at her and questioned why Red Deer would want that. Is Smith doing back room deals with Trudeau, trading immigrant intake for relaxation on resources?

That sounds like the bs behind the idea that a carbon tax will give us the social license for more resource development.
