Opus 4.6 vs Gemini 3.1 Pro (2/9) prompt: Build a premium Vite + React landing page for Aether, an AI creative studio, with dark-mode design, high-end animations (Framer Motion), and conversion-focused sections (hero, features, demo, pricing, testimonials). After testing every AI toolchain for a year, this is the only workflow I'm endorsing: Figma → Claude Code (Sonnet 4.5) Here's how I'm building Lorelight: 1. Design the happy path in Figma 2. Feed it to Claude Code via Figma MCP 3. Get a strong foundation in 15 minutes 4. Spend the next 50+ hours iterating (still design work) The design/dev loop that used to be isolated is finally closing. I even built a complete design system in within minutes. Custom components, living documentation, accessibility rules all from the Figma designs. If you're measuring the effectiveness of these tools by whether they can "one-shot" a design, you're consuming too many AI hype commercials. Log off. Then go actually build something with your hands. With AI. With your taste. Stop trying to "one-shot" good shit. And go make stuff with the new tools. For designers who want to ship real products, this is the stack that's getting it done.

I got to try Grok 4.5 in early access in Cursor for the past few days and I absolutely enjoyed it. It feels like Opus 4.8 at 2x the speed at a much cheaper price point. I tasked it to brainstorm > plan > implement a big feature for my game (this act 1 boss fight) and it did not disappoint. - It is much smarter than Composer 2.5, during planning mode, it is able to think through my request more robustly, ensuring that edge cases are covered and makes sure to ask the right questions to confirm with me first. - It is much better at brainstorming ideas/suggestions, similar to Opus 4.8, though I think Fable still edges out a little when it comes to brainstorming ideas and suggestions - It is FAST. probably the fastest of all frontier models (Opus 4.8, GPT 5.5 etc), which makes it a joy to build with, because I can stay in the flow - It has much improved visual/animation capabilities than Composer 2.5, it can code up animations (i wanted an explosion animation with particle effects) with much, much better visuals, animation movement and timing. This is a big leap and I was so happy to see this improvement. - The best part for me is that I can just use the same model from planning down to execution without switching to a lower cost model because the price point is cheaper than other frontier models. I'll be testing this model with more challenging tasks in the next few days but I think this is going to be my main driver for vibe coding for a while. Also, its nice to see Grok back in the race. 🙌

Huge UI design boost by adding this to my AI workflow 1. Explore variations with Variant. The secret is to use "shuffle layout" and "see other views". This keeps the essence of a design that I like, but gives interesting layout variations. I also change colors and explore narrow by specifying one or two things in prompt, like font name, UI style or light/dark mode. 2. Copy HTML and prompt with Gemini 3 in site builder. Fix minute details like fonts, icons, assets, intro/scroll animations, adaptive layout and make the whole thing functional. Include image references, button styles, code snippets and other components to keep things creative. Often, I see sites that have one cool thing, but the rest is super generic. That's because AI is especially good at being generic without continuously feeding specs. 3. Turn into a landing page by prompt adding new components/sections and connect/adapt new pages. This is the part where most people stop, but it's actually the easiest since AI is so good at reading existing code. "Adapt this {page code} for a {features, blog, pricing, login} page." Finally, set up SEO and custom domain name. Boom, you just shipped a pro-level site that doesn't look generic.

I interviewed Don Norman in an honest conversation (that has now gone viral). It's a fallacy that designers only need to focus on design; business knowledge is too important. Don discussed with me: Design education needs to change to focus on broader skills and design thinking, they often lack the understanding of how the world works and are only trained with an art basis. Understanding business operations and economics is crucial for making a difference in the world. What are your 2c on this?

Damn! Boostrapping till $12m ARR and now raising another $16m is crazy. I didn't fully grasp how far they'd pushed until I tested it myself. It is actually the most aggressive AI ad engine in the market right now. I used to tell clients that a viral ad will take a few weeks of revision cycles and the production budget would be around ~$5k. Last week I cooked a complete campaign in 27 minutes for $11 with nothing but Arcads. Here’s the exact workflow being used by media buyers spending 100M every year: 1. Upload the product image 2. Generate two prompts: one use-case, one AI-actor script (use Gemini for details) 3. Produce a 12-second product video with Sora Pro inside Arcads 4. Generate the AI-actor clip 5. Final pass in CapCut PS:) Like, Repost, and Bookmark! The output looked like a six-figure studio job and took less time than writing the brief itself. If this isn't the ultimate AI use case, idk what is.

$I just compared Claude Code vs Codex vs Cursor CLI The task was to build a Next.js app with Tailwind 4 and shadcn components to collect customer feedback and showcase it with a widget. I gave all three the same prompt and let them go for 30 minutes to see what they came up with. Claude Code with Opus 4.1 Even though I told it to set up the app in the existing project folder, it tried to create a directory for it. After I interrupted and told it not to do that, it built a demo form and landing page with no errors. I had to ask it to make the demo interactive so users could submit a testimonial and preview it. The landing page looked like AI and was pretty basic, but it worked and it was done in a fraction of the time of the others. Total tokens used: 33k Codex with GPT-5 At the end of the 30 minutes I just could not get Codex to produce a working app. It got stuck in a loop of not being able to set up Tailwind 4 and despite many, MANY, attempts, I ended up with a "failed to compile" error. Total tokens used: 102k Cursor Agent with GPT-5 This was the slowest agent by far and a couple of times I actually thought it got stuck in a loop and was close to Ctrl+C'ing to cancel it. The TUI is really nice though, especially how it shows diffs and it did eventually build a working app (after one or two slight errors that needed fixing) The demo was interactive and it had a very minimal design that looked bare but also a lot less like an "AI generated" app than the Opus 4.1 design. It also wasn't too chatty and just did what it needed to do! Code quality was on a par with Opus 4.1, but it did use 5.5x as many tokens to get there. Still cheaper than Opus on a direct comparison but not when you factor in a Claude Code Max subscription. Total tokens: 188k I'll be able to do a proper comparison and record some videos when I'm back from holiday but for now, Opus is still the more capable model out of the box and Claude Code is the more complete CLI product. It will be interesting to see how Cursor evolve their CLI though with commands and subagents because I think with GPT-5 they have a real shot at providing competition for Claude Code if they can optimise output to get similar quality with less tokens.
