Like an appreciation of progress, reading and literacy are among the things that are good but cognitively unnatural. That is, they go against our evolved nature. We didn’t evolve with print; it was a recent invention. Reading, for many of us, has become so second nature that we just assume it’s the most natural way of getting information. Can we call this AI directing? 😂 Seedance 2.0 with the Omni Reference feature honestly feels like a total game changer. Summer Trip is one of my film which I made used Omni Reference, not only start frame anymore and for the first time, it genuinely feels like I’m directing the AI instead of just prompting it. The reasoning in Seedance 2.0 is seriously impressive. It understands intent in a way that feels collaborative. Of course, in production it still needs proper touch-ups in post, grading, timing, polishing details, but the foundation it gives is strong. Like it or not, we’re already here. And to be honest, my workflow has to evolve too. I can’t approach this the same way I did before. It’s less about generating random shots and more about guiding, refining, and thinking like a director from the start. Personally, I see this as a shift, not replacing filmmaking, but reshaping the role of the filmmaker. Now the question isn’t “Can AI make it?” but “How well can you direct it?”

I built this zoom UI entirely in Cursor I still mainly use Claude for everything. Sometimes, I switch to o1, but Agent has been game-changing for me, mainly because it's able to figure out a lot of things by itself, like which files to include, what errors to fix and it scales well with the complexity of bigger projects. So 6 months solo into this project (with breaks and while creating courses), I must say that building a video editor from scratch is humbling. The hardest parts are really hard (like exporting, multi-video editing, storage) and the shiny things are mostly easy. AI does a lot of things well, but you absolutely need to be persistent, approach from multiple angles and combine with your intuition and taste. Still, without AI, this project would have been just a dream. And no matter what you want to design or code, or what tools you use, it'll only be meaningful if you put a lot of thought and execution into it.

But the first thing I want to talk about is that Tay eats a lot. I’ve been like this since I was a kid, kind of addicted. I’m afraid of being thin, because I feel like it’s embarrassing. If I’m thin, people will comment on it: “Why are you so thin?” For me, the word fat is actually a compliment, because I grew up with the idea that being thin is bad. I’ve been like this up until now, at 34 years old. My weight has always been around 62–63 kg, and my target is usually around 65 kg. I’ve never really gone beyond that always 62, 63, or 64. But earlier this year, around March or April, my weight suddenly went up to 67 kg. After a while, it even reached 68.5, and that shocked me. I was so confused because I was still eating the same way I always had eating a lot, 3–4 meals a day, sometimes more. If 3 meals, I eat like tons. I also added (protein) shakes to gain weight. Now I’m at 68 kg, almost shooting SHTH soon while my arms and body look bigger, my belly has also grown. If I eat less for just 2–5 days, my weight quickly drops back down to 65, which is about a 3 kg loss which is pretty fast. My body mass also reduces by about 1.5, and I feel small again, though the belly also goes away. The problem is, I don’t know what to do now. I can’t really do heavy fitness training because I have an injury of my tennis elbow. If I keep using it, the injury just gets worse. My therapist told me not to overuse it, but it’s hard because in daily life I can’t completely avoid using my elbow. That makes it harder to recover. Even when I go to the gym, I don’t use that arm much, but it still gets affected because the elbow helps support the body in almost every movement. I can’t hold heavy weights because of the pain, so I’ve been trying lighter exercises. Still, I’m not sure what I should do. If the injury is already bad, it may take months or even a year to recover. So now I’m wondering: should I take a break, or just be like Off Jumpol did as it will be super easy for me to be lean like that. But if I still want to get bigger, what I should do.

A closer look on the GSAP powered animations in Webflow. Just from my perspective. In short, it’s way more powerful than I first thought. The more I use it, the more I like it. Of course, there are some parts missing. But it's the first version. There's still a lot to come. For example, custom ease would already make a huge difference. Breakpoints. Maybe a way to add custom functions as sometimes you need to calculate stuff in JavaScript to get complex animations. The biggest part for me is that you can just build the animation inside a timeline. This makes it so much easier than writing it as code. You can fine tune it so much more. When there would be a way to export the tween as code to add some more functionality would be awesome. You can also add custom classes with the timeline, which can then be used in custom CSS to add more functionality. With a bit of custom code you can also use breakpoints for your animations. By using the custom event the animation can be used in custom code which can also be pretty powerful. Didn’t test it so much yet, but would be cool if you could just take the event and use for example the onComplete() from GSAP or other stuff. This is from today's #WCWS game. This was ruled a base hit when it happened (you can see the 'H' pop up), but was changed to a missed catch error by the first baseman at the bottom of the fourth. This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard. This throw has to be to the glove, and while it's not a wild throw, it's low enough that the first baseman cannot get her glove around it in time. This is where replay gets you in trouble. The slo-mo replay makes it look like it's a catchable ball, but it isn't. In real time, at live speed, this isn't an error. This isn't a missed catch or a drop. I was loving the call of a single, especially because it was the first hit, and then, when it was changed, it felt like it was to protect a no-hitter. Everything about this screams "above ordinary effort" ... I would have left this as a single.

A Few Thoughts on Robotics The criticism that robotics can only be used in a rather one-sided way is, at the same time, the solution to the problem. What do I mean by that? Since the Industrial Revolution, humanity has increasingly made production methods more efficient. Fordism introduced assembly line work, but this comes at the expense of monotonous, repetitive tasks. On the one hand, immense wealth has been created; on the other hand, countless people suffer from repetitive tasks, which are a direct consequence of that industrial revolution and the division of labor- in other words, assembly line work. The debate about whether AI and robotics could impact the labor market is answered in different ways. I have a clear opinion on this: Up to now, technology has merely been an augmentation, an improvement of human labor to make it more effective. Robotics and AI, however, represent a qualitative break with this situation. For the first time in human history, it won't be humans who become more efficient, but rather replaceable, insofar as human augmentation becomes *less* efficient than replacing human labor with robotics. In just a few years, a human using technology will simply be less efficient than a robot that doesn't know an eight-hour day, weekends, or holidays, but can perform monotonous tasks 24/7 on an assembly line without breaking down due to physical ailments or needing medical attention. Wear and tear simply means replacing specific parts of the robot. To return to the initial question: production doesn't require general-purpose robots capable of performing a wide variety of tasks, but rather specialized robots that excel at the specific tasks for which they are needed. Figure02 vividly illustrates why this is only now possible: even the simplest assembly line work still requires delicate manual dexterity because the production line is designed for human hands. This breakthrough has now arrived, but AGI (Automated Generating Intelligence) isn't necessary for robots to be used in production processes. It's sufficient that they can perform monotonous tasks. In just a few years, a human using technology will simply be less efficient than a robot that doesn't know an eight-hour day, weekends, or holidays, but can perform monotonous tasks 24/7 on an assembly line without breaking down due to physical ailments or needing medical attention. Wear and tear simply means replacing specific parts of the robot. To return to the initial question: production doesn't require general-purpose robots capable of performing a wide variety of tasks, but rather specialized robots that excel at the specific tasks for which they are needed. Figure02 vividly illustrates why this is only now possible: even the simplest assembly line work still requires delicate manual dexterity because the production line is designed for human hands. When I am at the gym and I see somebody’s water bottle there or a towel or something. I know they just stepped away for a moment and that the machine is occupied. Out of respect I won’t move it out of the way only for them to come back and have to explain themselves anyways. This young lady on the machine left her water bottle on it because she stepped away for a moment to use the restroom only for somebody else to come by and try to use it in her place. Would you have understood the etiquette or is it just a free for all? When I first started working out I was unfamiliar with the gym etiquette. Some people just got done with a hard set and need to stand up and walk for a few moneys or get a drink of water and they use it as their rest period so that they can go back at it. Interrupting that process is the same thing as booting them off the machine mid workout. It’s rude and uncalled for but why does it keep happening? I think what it is, is that some people are very judgmental, they see others and think that they are more serious about working out than the other person so that to them it means they are entitled to use it first because their workouts are more important. I used to let them do that to me but no more. I treat it as first come first serve, if they don’t want to wait then maybe they need to avoid the gym during peak hours. This is the very reason I work out in the middle of the night most of the time. I rather not be bothered and if I need to take my time I can, most of the time nobody else is even there anyways when I go.
