I told AI to complete a CS assignment from Stanford's Advanced Data Structures (CS166) — and it just.. did it! It read the pdf, wrote a Binomial Heap in C++, wrote tests + makefile, ran the tests, and wrote up a final pdf! Would've taken a student ~20hrs. Took... AI ~3mins.show more

Got a lot of comments saying "well, isn't it in the training data?" and I think that misses the point. Most homework isn't novel across college + class. If you are able to scour and generalize across internet knowledge, it renders the HW itself pointless as a measuring tool.

Well you would imagine it is good at solving textbook CS problems because it’s been trained on so many of them

A binomial heap isn’t taking 20 hrs to implement lol. More like one or two hours of locking in.

It did all 4 problems, but I didn’t have character space to include them. I think a student in that class without experience would probably take 20 total (maybe I’m just dumb) because we usually don’t lock in immediately for that long

Wow, templated implementation. That's probably better than 90% what the students in that class can write.
