I turned Thariq's article into an interactive HTML! I was a markdown boy but since I started working at Microsoft I'm using HTML more and more. Our engineers love to send AI-generated HTML to coordinate between SWE/PM on projects since it's easier to read than markdown.

@trq212 we do the same - almost all internal communication artifacts are now HTML: interactive pages, apps or @HyperFrames_ videos.

@trq212 @HyperFrames_ That's very cool. Do you have a solution for sharing artifacts and collaborating on the same artifacts?

@trq212 @HyperFrames_ we do! we built an entire internal product suite for it, like G-suite but for HTML artifacts. lemme know if yall wanna try it!

@trq212 And I turned it into a skill 😅

@trq212 Yes! HTML files slap for visual understanding and sharing. We had the problem of not being able to easily share these markdown and HTML artifacts securely with others in the team so we built a solution for it. It allows to collaborate with teammates and agent through comments.

@trq212 Seeing the same thing but for giant csv or xlsx tables/charts, is so much easier in an html format

@trq212 I imagine at some point the limitation will be on the human and what we can digest rather than what an AI can read at a low cost- I've also been playing around with this concept to see if there's an effective way to use html as one source of truth. -

@trq212 I do like to use it for humans but then use a custom cli tool for the agent to translate it back to LLM without the fluff we need as humans. In that regard it’s a little more token for writing the plan. But doesn’t hurt the executor‘s context window. Best of both worlds imo.

@trq212 I prefer mdx Has some limitations but much better than just markdown

@trq212 I use to share markdown docs as HTML over the web and I just have Claude or codex work with the Pagoti api to make updates.

@trq212 anyone found an easy solution to sharing html files at work, that’s not literally html files

@trq212 That's cool. Just sharing, I turned this article into a video by Hermes + Hyperframes. AI can do anything

@trq212 the main reason markdown will never go away is because it is legible without a renderer. If you are working in a project, you can put a /docs folder in there and open it in your editor and not worry about a separate renderer. otherwise html and latex and pdf are clearly better

@trq212 didn't expect ai-generated html to actually slap for SWE/PM handoff, but PMs can break the layout when they edit. markdown was ugly but anyone could tweak it

Are they saved in one place to manually open, or do y'all just send back and forth? I've been stuck on how to take something I make and share it

@trq212 try this - we've been using it for a while to host html artifacts to attach to PRs.

@trq212 Do you scrap the text from html or you send the whole thing? I think is cool but if not controlled (limits, length) the prompt will be overkill, as it is with markdown just plein text, what you think?

@trq212 Markdown is only good for very simple stuff where html is an overkill.

@trq212 This interactive version makes the point better than words alone could. HTML really does change how we coordinate when the output gets complex.

@trq212 But how are you guys sharing them? .md files stays in code VSCode can show the preview to make it readable. For HTML you need to open browswer every-time or what? We just built our whole foundation on .md files, now this is looking stupid to switch to HTML immediately

@trq212 Do you load that HTML on Sharepoint for example? Would be great if Copilot can also have that context via Sharepoint. But Sharepoint not very “open” to hosting HTML files… probably security related.

html great until you need to round-trip changes. md diffs read clean, substance lines move. html diffs are 80% noise: attribute order, whitespace, style reshuffling. SWE cant tell in review what PM actually edited vs what got rerendered. we kept md source-of-truth, render html on top, edits flow back through md.

@trq212 as a PM who reads engineer specs all day, the fact that someone at Microsoft discovered "what if the document was actually readable" is both extremely validating and deeply concerning about where we've been this whole time

@trq212 Once AI HTML hits SWE/PM, the browser becomes a little compliance dashboard where every accordion files a status ticket.

@trq212 “since it's easier to read than markdown” why not just admit that retards can’t read and formulate a mental model? And they need visual aid for their tiny attention span?
