🚨WOW🚨 It was brought to my attention that there was a certain kind of club being run in a Melbourne Primary School, so I looked into it. A “Queer Club” was started in May 2023 at Montmorency South Primary School for students in Years 3-6. For those overseas, that means children 8-12 years of age. The club was signed off by the schools co-Principals and is facilitated by Trish/Patsy Munro. “The aim of Queer Club is to foster a safe environment that is supportive and inclusive of the queer community. The club will be open to Years 3-6 students who identify as LGBTQIA+ and also for allies, with the main purpose to help make our school queer friendly so that students and families feel accepted and welcome at Monty South.” The school is also renowned for it’s “gender inclusive” language models, not referring to students as boys/girls, but focusing on “inclusive terms.” Parents have left the school due to these programs. There is absolutely NO place for any type of LGBTxyz club in a PRIMARY SCHOOL, or any school for that matter. Children should NOT be learning about sexualities at such a young, impressionable age. Why is there a push to close Chicago Public Schools on May 1? According to the Illinois State Board of Education, only 1 in 3 CPS elementary students are proficient in reading and only 1 in 5 are proficient in math. Our kids need more time in the classroom, not less, yet Chicago parents are being asked for their kids to lose another day of school on May 1st for a political Day of Action. Parents and kids rely on schools for learning and consistency. Closing schools will send parents scrambling for babysitters or losing wages to stay home to care for their kids. For some kids, schools are where they get their meals and are the safest place they’ll be that day. As a CPS mom, I have skin in the game and expect my son to be in school where he belongs on May 1st. Keep Chicago’s students in the classroom, parents at work, and focus on the city’s test scores, not its politics. #chicago

A RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL TRUTH: It’s sad how some kids were put in residential schools when res or day schools became mandatory. Also important to know that for decades prior, indigenous kids were enrolled by parents who wanted education for them. Parents like the grandparents of Ellis Ross. The MP, was raised by parents who went to residential school and raised him to be independent, not DEPENDENT on the gov. When he served as Chief Councillor of the Haisla Nation, Ross helped his community become more independent and escape poverty through economic development. Making them less bound by the Indian Act. Aka more free. And that my friends, is a far more caring and effective approach to helping indigenous Canadians than BC’s socialist NDP’s never ending reconciliation & oppression agenda.
