Hey guys I’m not disrespecting saying loud that I’m not from Nepal , I always and will respect Nepal for we share language, culture and history, Nepal is part of a family for many reasons. I’m just educating people here because I feel it’s very much needed to understand by all , I may not talk proper Nepali language as I talk mostly Hindi , English for my official work but I know my identity and have a huge respect for that. We mostly Nepali/gorkha people in India face this issue, when i say I’m Nepali, people usually think I’m original from Nepal but actually is my whole family born in India , many of family haven’t been to Nepal , many already died. It’s a basic knowledge we all should know, everyone has the origins but not everyone is from the origin place. As a short knowledge sharing here to understand clearly , when someone say Gorkha he/she stay/lived outside Nepal (not citizen of Nepal), Nepal has a village name Gorkha but they will still say they are from Nepal, Gorkha village not Gorkha. Its very complicated , hope I’m making it little easy to understand 😅 Ex: When someone ask me : I say I’m Nepali speaking Gorkha from India.

The citizens of Nepal are called Nepali/Nepalese. The citizens of India are called Indian. And Nepali/gorkhali speaking Indians are Indian Gorkhas. Also, language does not solely define one's nationality. I feel irritated by people who keep on asking my nationality as soon as they hear me speaking Nepali/gorkhali language.

Aren’t there Gurkha communities in Myanmar, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brunei and UK as well?
