Additional raw video footage of family separated by ICE driving home from church. It was meant to be a sweet family day. The little ones and their parents piled into the car to go to Sunday Mass. After they said their prayers, the parents wanted to treat their children to brand new shoes for the first day of school. As they were on their way to the store, ICE unexpectedly pulled them over. The eldest daughter, a U.S. citizen, was driving the car. Agents forced her parents to identify themselves even though they were only passengers. ICE admitted the driver had done nothing wrong, but that they had scanned the license plate and saw it was associated with a non-citizen. A pattern we regularly see: the plate was scanned after law enforcement racially profiled an indigenous family. Both of the parents were detained, leaving the younger children in the care of the eldest, who just celebrated her 18th birthday the day before. Yesterday, agents rear-ended a car being driven by a 16-year-old, with her 15-year-old brother in the passenger seat. Instead of calling a guardian, agents photographed the 15-year-old… and then took him. The 16-year-old showed agents her U.S. passport…. Dad agreed to self deport in exchange for mom being able to stay with kids. 2 weeks later ICE arrested mom anyway. The oldest daughter is 20 years old—but lives 2,000 miles away with her fiance. This is the story of the group we have been following since their eviction in Tunis on 3rd May. We documented and monitored their movements as they were desert-dumped near the Algerian border region and it took them a week to trek back to Tunis but on 11th May they were arrested about 18km from Tunis. They have been so far robbed of their phones, personal belongs and arbitrarily detained. Before their arrest, they filed a complaint with the UN Human Rights Committe for torture, attempted homicide and assault on their persons. The complaint was accepted and state party was notified but instead of protecting and providing them with the necessary needs, they have been detained and consequently are tortured. 1/ 2 August 2025, the children of the Gazan al-Sultan family, Wisam, Fathi, Mira and little Taymour put on their best clothes to go to school and get their report cards. They go to a private school in Gaza City, but their mother says they've studied online for parts of the school year, because they were displaced. On their way home, they see aid being airdropped from planes. As you can see at the end of the video, there are names of IDF soldiers written in Hebrew on the wall of their living room, above where the soldiers must have slept. Recently, I advocated for Black families whose children were being racially bullied and harassed by white students in Southwick, MA. They called Black students the NWord, wrote racial slurs on bathroom walls, urinated on pictures of Black students, and held an online mock slave auction where bids were placed on their fellow Black students starting at $2. According to shannon sharpe during his interview with Amanda Seales on Club Shay Shay, white children who do and say these types of racist things aren’t actually racist, they’re just repeating what their racist parents say, but don’t actually know that they’re wrong. According to Shannon’s logic, the 12 and 13-year-old white children, who were bidding on “purchasing“ Black students in the online slave auction during Black History Month, were just kids being kids and racism had nothing to do with it. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Lina and Sophie had the hardest imaginable first year on this planet but oh how their lives have changed for the better... Since they were born a year ago… 🇹🇭 Lived on the streets in Thailand 🐕 Grew up as puppies on a construction site 🪨 Had people throw rocks at them to chase them away 🦠 We were given 24 hours to rescue them or they would be poisoned 🤒 Shortly after rescuing them they got Parvo. They lost their little brother but they both survived. It was touch and go for 2 whole weeks on a drip in the vets 😳 They were in quarantine for another 4 weeks and become utterly terrified of all humans 📆 After months of slowly training and meeting their new owners who came to visit they slowly came out of their shells. ✈️ Their next challenge was their flight to England to their forever homes. These 2 girls have overcome all that in just 1 year and look at them now. They are still slowly settling in and decompressing but look at their happy little faces. Lina and Sophie are both fully home 🏡

I met Antonio and Caleb Gámez-Cuéllar at a Congressional event recognizing the musical excellence of the Mariachi Oro vocalists. The event was hosted by their hometown Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz. Right now, they are being imprisoned by ICE. Where is their Congresswoman now? How are they good enough, safe enough, excellent enough to perform at the Capitol and visit the White House but still deserve to be locked up at Dilley? The entire Gámez-Cuéllar family did everything the right way. The applied for and were granted asylum. They attended every court date and immigration check-in. ICE detained them anyway, sending the two youngest boys and their parents to the Dilley trailer prison. The oldest, 18-year old Antonio, was sent to an adult facility. ICE is ripping apart families. During my inspection to the Dilley trailer prison on Monday, I will check on the safety of the Gámez-Cuéllar family and do everything in my power to make sure they return home.

I distributed 50 school supply kits to students at Al-Khayam School in Gaza, out of 120 students. Seventy children are still waiting for their turn waiting for nothing more than a pen and a notebook, just to feel that they are still students, and that their dreams still exist. I would be truly happy if we could complete the distribution to the remaining children those who have lost everything in their lives: their homes, their sense of safety, their childhood, and have nothing left but clinging to education as their last hope.
