Self-improving software isn’t exactly the cyberpunk future we were promised, but it’s still a great future nonetheless

The interesting part of that loop is its termination condition. Reflect then fix only converges when the test is an oracle the agent cannot author. Video editing is where that bites, because the check is perceptual. An agent can iterate into something that passes its own judgement and is still wrong, and it will report success. What makes the difference is a check it cannot move: a golden frame comparison, a duration assertion, a hash on the output. Whoever writes the test decides whether the loop is self correcting or self confirming.

Can you make cursor or grokbot or something use final cut pro??

Too many people are handing tasks to agents and skipping the "build software" part. This is cool!

Hey @mattyp and @elonmusk, I challenge both of you and add on Ms. @poteto in there also to do some your most minor work for one day on the $30 plan only and see if you are at 100% at the end of the day! And if you are successful please document it so the rest of US will understand!

My head instantly "Maybe I should ask my agent to try out the crappy UI I have built and maybe it will magically find the best possible variation".

@mattyp interesting setup! I’d add a checkpoint system for immediate feedback during edits. Speeds up fixing those errors before full reflection.

We’d save each failed edit as a small test project and rerun the earlier ones after every fix. Otherwise the agent could get this video working while quietly breaking a cut that passed yesterday.

well well. This is interesting. I would like to see this as an webinar. Also how did you teach it to have the transitions cut at the right time between your screen and your cam?

The reflection loop is the real product. What usually breaks in practice: the agent “fixes” UI without a fail contract. Try: after each fail, force (a) reproduce steps, (b) expected vs actual screenshot/state, (c) one hypothesis, (d) smallest patch, (e) human accept checklist (layout, keyboard, empty states). Cap auto-retries at 3, then escalate—otherwise it thrash-edits forever.

sick! i let an agent subscribe to a debug socket and a screen recording while i drive the app we're building. this kind of stateful feedback loop is insane. we get to cheat by "fixing the plane while it's in the air"

nah, a clean timeline can still hide the bad export. ours only caught it after `ffprobe` failed on the output file.

The editor is the byproduct. The feedback loop is the real product.

Making the agent use the editor it’s building is a great stress test. What counts as a successful edit here: it looks right in the UI, or the exported file survives a full watch-through?

love that the failure is part of the workflow reflect → fix → try again inside the actual editor

Cursor 云代理直接剪视频——时间线状态是挂在 agent 会话里,还是另有编辑器进程在撑?断线会丢片段吗
