Today we launch 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐈— $88m, Europe’s largest dedicated pre-seed fund. Built for founders with just a concept and the conviction to chase it. In the last three years with Fund I, the Concept team has partnered with 44 companies at day zero — saying yes when others say no. We’ve led 90% of our rounds, backed founders in every sector from commodities to robotics, and stood behind their ambition to build multi-billion-dollar outcomes from the very first cheque. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: • $88m — significantly oversubscribed, with first close in just 3 weeks • Backed by world-class global LPs: Top Tier Capital Partners Partners, @MarktlikCapital, Aldea Ventures, Dominus, Granite and Integra Partners. • 70%+ of our Fund I portfolio founders joined as LPs, alongside some of Europe’s best founders — including unicorn founders (), Amar Shah (Wayve), and Mik Attisani (Faceit) • Fund I is a top 1% fund globally for its vintage on all metrics, with $450m+ raised by our founders so far 𝐓𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦: Anrea Munsamy, Ariel Rahamim, Jeff Chowdhry, Lauren Sauerland, Oliver Oliver Kicks and Seyon Indran — building Concept with you as outsiders to VC has been my greatest joy. From late nights to tough decisions, from wins to crises — sharing those highs and lows with you has shaped a people-first fund that truly reflects who we are. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐏𝐬: those who believed on day one, with a 90% re-up rate — thank you for believing in our concept and backing us again. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬: thank you for trusting us at day zero. This fund is for your ambition. A huge thank you to Alex Macdonald and the sequel team , as a value add LP, for helping us bring this incredible video to life (watch to the end!) At Concept Ventures , we don’t see sectors, we see people. Whether you’re in UK, Italy, Poland, Spain or beyond — first-time or repeat founder — if you have the ambition to build globally from Europe, our door is open. Just bring your Concept!

It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent… Let's be crazy… I got something to announce: We're launching PROTOTYPE: a new fund, fully focused on Europe. A small fund that punches way above it's size. With it we back what Europe is world-class at: robotics, automation, manufacturing, and anything that requires hard engineering. First check. First round. As early as it gets. Europe invented industry. We're the birthplace of precision manufacturing. The second largest manufacturing hub on the planet. Leaders in automation and robotics. And yet… We sell out our best tech to China. We export our best founders & most of our investment money to the US. That's insanity. What should we do instead? Build the next trillion euro companies in robotics, manufacturing, automation right here: in Europe. Showcase to young founders what is possible and change the system around them where needed. What we will do: → Publish all our fund updates and build in public: → Showcase Europe’s Most Ambitious Startups on Youtube: → Launch & support more projects like EU–INC. Enough talking about Europe. Time to build it: Startups, makerspaces, student clubs, and much more. → And most importantly, invest into the best founders in Europe. Same model as our previous funds that are in their top 1-5% cohorts worldwide. We won’t do a VC fund in the classic sense. This will be a community of hyper-ambitious people who want to actively change Europe for the better. It only needs a few crazy ones to fix a continent… Let's be crazy. Check out

Today, we’re announcing that we’ve raised $115 million in funding, including a $100M Series A led by Kleiner Perkins. America has lost the ability to build, and we’re here to restore it. My co-founder, Noah McGuinness, and I left our jobs at SpaceX , where we worked on programs including Starship, Starshield, and Starlink, to build a company that will solve construction’s greatest challenges. Infrastructure is the foundation of civilization, and construction is the precursor to innovation. If America wants to build a brighter future for the next generation, we have to make it faster, cheaper, and safer to build. That’s where TerraFirma comes in. We’re a new type of company, a robotic construction company that builds the full technology stack needed to deliver an order-of-magnitude improvement in one of the world’s oldest, largest, most important, but least efficient industries. We are building technology that expands what’s possible in construction on Earth, and then we'll use that same technology to build megastructures and colonies on the Moon and Mars. We’ve made tremendous progress over the past year, growing the company more than 10x in the last 12 months. We are performing projects across the world. By the end of October 2026, we are on track to operate 3 of the top 3 largest robotic construction fleets in the world, each on a different continent, bringing unprecedented speed, scale, and efficiency to some of the world’s most complex critical infrastructure projects. This funding will allow us to step on the gas and scale our manufacturing, software, operations, and construction deployments, including work on massive commercial and government contracts. We’re building the future of construction right here in Austin, Texas, and scaling it globally. If you want to be part of the team changing the world, now and on Mars, join us. Our Series A was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Glade Brook Capital Partners, BANNER VC, Saga Ventures, Trust Ventures, Definition, PEAK6, Magnetar Capital, and Ravelin Capital. Huge thanks to all of our angel investors, friends, and family who have helped and supported us throughout this journey. Apply here:

🚨Should the US create a Sovereign Wealth Fund? Chamath and Friedberg discuss Chamath: “I think that we should start a sovereign wealth fund right now.” “The great news is that these Trump tariff deals come with huge amounts of capital that these other countries have committed to spending inside the United States.” “We've exceeded $1T of inbound capital on the investment side. We get 90% of the upside.” “A lot of that capital should be the seed capital for a sovereign wealth fund.” Friedberg: “The concern I have is anytime we create a new income stream at the federal government, or we have some sort of growing asset that you mark up on the book, someone tends to invest ahead of the curve on that.” “Meaning someone takes that and they're like, ‘Oh, great, I can spend more now.’ I mean, we even saw this in California (with) Gavin Newsom and the budget skyrocketed as the income went up.” “Rather than take the surplus and book it for a rainy day, they went and spent ahead of it, and then all of a sudden they had a huge deficit.” “Which is what happened with Social Security is, it's like, okay, all these people are providing this income every year to the federal government, which they're supposed to be paying into their Social Security Trust Fund, which is gonna go bankrupt sometime between 2030 and 2033.” “But then what happened is we raided the coffers, we took all that money, and we started spending it on random new programs.” “And the problem is, by giving the government more assets, by giving the government more income, we set ourselves up for a circumstance where the federal government, the Congress says, ‘Great, we got more money to spend. Let's do X, Y, and Z program and let's do this. Let's build a high speed train. Let's do this. These are all good for American people.’” “And all of a sudden, you don't actually solve any real problems. And this is why my argument is that we should use it to fill the hole that we have, for example, in Social Security.” “And that needs to become an asset that's strictly used as an offset on Social Security, because if you don't put it in that box, it just becomes another spending mechanism.”

We raised a $135M Series A! 8090’s Series A was led by Salesforce Ventures and joined by WNDR, Craft Ventures, The Production Board, and LAUNCH. We also had the support of a group of esteemed angels including Nikesh Arora, Cliff Robbins, Adam D’Angelo, Shyam Ravindran, Abhi Arun, and Thomas Laffont. We’re grateful for their support. It validates 8090’s mission and traction so far, but mostly it accelerates the work ahead. The capital will go to two places. The first is hiring more people, because the demand we have is accelerating rapidly. The second is investing in the compute and infrastructure needed to keep delivering our solutions at high quality and reliability. 8090 works with the biggest, hardest, most demanding customers in the most regulated industries: healthcare, insurance, life sciences, aerospace, energy, manufacturing, financial services, and the United States government. We help them win by using our AI-enabled Software Factory to design and build entire new systems, refactor old ones, and find and accelerate their edge. Our view is that as Software Factory is used more and more to do mission-critical work inside industries with the least tolerance for error and the most oversight, it will be used to bring transparency, consistency and control to work everywhere. And as we expand the potential of the biggest organizations, we are also building a playbook and a series of network effects into Software Factory that will be valuable to everyone, from SMBs to solo founders. With much gratitude, back to work… PS - A note on why I am doing this as CEO, rather than from the board. This is one of those rare moments when the technological ground is moving so ferociously underneath all of us that the decisions made in the next few years will set the stage for the next twenty. AI can be the grand equalizer. It is the thing that can give everybody a shot, and I would like to help it achieve that potential. Since I left Facebook, I was waiting for a moment like this to return to a full-time operating role. I was a demanding manager back then, but I felt I had no choice given how powerful and undeniable what we were building was. I am convinced that what we are building now is even more important, so there was no decision to make except to be all in.

We’re thrilled to share that Outset has raised $17M in Series A funding, led by 8VC to help companies better understand their customers. When michael hess and I founded Outset, we set out to solve a critical problem: truly understanding your customer is painfully slow, expensive, and at times, impossible. It shouldn’t be. We believed AI could change this by focusing on the human side of AI. So we built the world’s first AI-interviewer. An AI agent that asked questions, listened, and learned from real humans. By removing the barriers of traditional research and allowing companies to have deeper conversations with more customers more quickly, we could help teams infuse their products with genuine human understanding at a speed and scale previously impossible. So what was the moment we knew we were onto something? When WeightWatchers ran that first pilot back in early 2023. Participants shared incredible amounts of depth, all with the world’s first AI-interviewer. We got a call the next day from their head of research: "You built a thing. We want that thing. How do I pay you for it?" That validation has turned into explosive growth. We've doubled our revenue in just the last 4 months alone, with >50 enterprise customers like Nestlé, Microsoft, and WeightWatchers trusting us to unlock deeper customer insights. All of this built on the backs of a truly special early team with 0 employee turnover. This funding round was led by 8VC, with participation from an incredible group, including: Future Back Ventures by Bain & Company, Y Combinator / Garry Tan, Adverb Ventures /April Underwood / Jessica Verrilli ), Alt Capital / Jack Altman , Rebel Fund, Genius Ventures, Ritual Capital, and many more. So what's next? We're scaling our engineering and go-to-market teams to build the world's most powerful agentic customer research platform. All focused on one mission: helping companies better understand humans. To our customers, investors, and team - thank you for believing in this vision. Now check out the video to see Outset in action, testing the video itself with real people!

We did it, from idea to creation and execution. One year in the making, but the biggest challenge starts now. CoreNest El Salvador 🇸🇻 is going to impact generations of founders and their families, create thousands of jobs, and provide funding for entrepreneurs who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to follow their dreams. In small countries like El Salvador and across Central America, access to risk capital simply doesn’t exist the way it does in the U.S., Canada, or Europe. With the support of President Bukele Nayib Bukele , the Ministry of Economy Ministerio de Economía, and the Invest in El Salvador team, this vision is now a reality because CoreNest Capital was willing to pioneer, take on the challenge, and accept the risk. A $25 million fund with a new accelerator launch pad with government incentives like no other in the world, to invest in 300 startups and then follow-up $100 Million to invest in over 1000 more startups. I’m honored and proud to join this journey with the CoreNest El Salvador VC Fund and Accelerator as their Venture Partner to support all marketing efforts. Bob Ras Bob Ras and Reza Bashash Reza Bashash are true visionaries who turn words into action, but it takes a team to make this happen. Pedro Crespo PedroCrespo (Venture Partner) and our Accelerator CEO, Jose Roberto Rodriguez Duque Jose Roberto Rodriguez , are both executing tirelessly to turn this into reality in El Salvador 🇸🇻. David Friedberg: How to Save Social Security Using Compound Interest david friedberg with an incredible breakdown on E219: "The US Social Security Program is meant to be kind of the retirement program for folks that don't have access to private retirement accounts." "This program was set up in the 1930s after the Great Depression. There's a trust fund, the OASDI, which is the fund that they invest the capital (from)." "So every year we all put money in with our social security taxes out of our paychecks, (which) goes in there." "It gets invested in one thing: US Treasuries." "Which have averaged about 4.8% return per year since the beginning of the program." "Meanwhile, the S&P 500 has been averaging 11%." "So here's the math: if in 1971, which was the year that we went off the gold standard in the US, if we invested the Social Security Trust Fund in the S&P, the balance of the social security trust fund today would be $15T." "That would be roughly one-third of the value of the total S&P 500, which would be jointly owned by all Americans." "Now here's what's f*cked up: the middle class people who had access to private retirement accounts benefited by buying the S&P 500 and the wealthy were able to access it." "So all of the equity value that accrued from American enterprise and the prosperity of the American system accrued to the people that had access to the private accounts." "Meanwhile, the people that only had access to the public accounts got stuck owning treasuries." "Today, the Social Security Trust Fund has a $2.7T balance, and based on the outflows and inflows, it's going to go bankrupt in 2032." "So I did the math: If you assume that the S&P 500 continues to grow at 10.5% per year on average, we could put about $500B in the trust fund today, and it will not go bankrupt again." "And it will continue to grow every year. And then all Americans have participation in American enterprise." "And importantly, this becomes the world's largest sovereign wealth fund ever. You don't need a separate sovereign wealth fund. We already have one." "We've totally mismanaged it. And I went back to try and understand why this is the case. Why have we only ever bought treasuries? " "Early on, the US needed someone to loan money. So they basically forced the citizens to loan the government money in the form of treasuries." "But today, the social security trust fund owns less than 10%, about 8% of the total treasury bonds outstanding." "So why are we forcing all the American citizens to participate?" "Through the social security system, we've created the deep inequity we see in this country." "If instead we had allowed the social security system to invest in the S&P 500 to buy American enterprises to fund American businesses, then every American would be wealthy and that middle class that uniquely participated by basically arbitraging the market where they forced the treasury bond yields on the poor and they got to take access to the equity yields would have not happened."

Keith Rabois: “I tell founders not to worry about runway. Worry about lift.” “If you think about lift in a plane context, a company is only valuable if you achieve lift. Runway is a tactic for achieving lift, and you may need to extend the runway so that you have more time to get lift. But unless you’re actually achieving lift with that extra time, it doesn’t help you.” Keith continues: “I hate when a founder is like, ‘I want to raise this much money because it gives me two years runway.’… That is a stupid way to think about your fundraising.” Instead, founders should ask themselves what they need to achieve to achieve lift, and then work backwards from that. When Keith invests at Khosla Ventures and Founders Fund, they write internal memos about the three key risks to the company. Usually you can’t achieve all three in one financing, so founders should be asking themselves, What’s the most important inflection? And then structure their financing to achieve that. Keith advises founders that it’s ok to let their runway go very low if they feel like they’re approaching lift: “A lot of founders get very bad advice like ‘Oh, you need to have this much runway or you won’t be able to raise money from strength.’ That’s nonsense. If you have traction - if you hit a viral coefficient of 1 with three months of runway - almost every VC on the planet knows how to invest in that company, and it will not be a problem.” Video source: Khosla Ventures (2024)
