Even if you have changed it to Max Performance in Global Settings, these applications will still have it set to Adaptive. That's the whole point of this tweet.

Any reason why I only have these 2 options? Setting it to global just causes it to reset and I know my 4090 is running on up to date drivers

We have to make it easy fighters, just like we have a performance institute for UFC. We have a performance center for WWE. If you want to try to do one of those things, come our way and check it out. You don't have to sign anything with us. Same thing in boxing, grassroots system.

Did you know that in Blender you can have edge highlighting and ambient occlusion right in the regular 'Solid' shading mode? ✨ People were asking about my viewport shading settings, so here they are! 1. Press the small button on the top right of your viewport 2. Check 'Cavity', and set the type to 'Both'. World Space 'Valley' acts exactly like ambient occlusion. I like to disable the 'Ridge' here though, because inverted AO doesn't make sense to me visually 3. I also usually keep the 'Shadow' enabled for extra definition, but keep in mind that this is performance-heavy, and if you have millions of polys you may see stuttering 4. I also like to enable 'Backface Culling'. It's not uncommon to produce inverted geometry when you model. This setting allows me to see it immediately, and thanks to that, my geometry is always correct when I export it to Unity! 5. You can also select a different studio lighting preset, or go with a matcap if that's something you're into! 🚀 #b3d

So here is new local privilege escalation zero-day I discovered, not patched yet too :). In simple terms, if you have a service like RDP that exposes an RPC server, there many system services running as SYSTEM connect to it as RPC clients. If that service is turned off (RDP is off by default), it seems that any other process in Windows can expose the same RPC server using the same endpoint. Now all the RPC calls from that SYSTEM processes will come to this fake server and If the process that deployed the server has SeImpersonatePrivilege, it can escalate to SYSTEM by impersonate the RPC client. In the white paper below, I describe five exploit paths you can abuse. However it's architecture problem and maybe there are more. It's Not A Potato

if you've ever wanted to learn robotics, the best way is by building them to play games. setting requirements is one of the harder parts of starting any project. games offer a bounded constraint space where you can directly compare performance against others. either you score more points or you don't. with enough competitors, you get to see the whole solution space explored. as opposed to when you're designing a product, where you make these decisions early on and rarely get to go back and explore a different branch. people will come up with totally different ways of solving the same problems, and it's usually not obvious which will be better. there are subtle design tradeoffs that don't reveal themselves until the meta evolves. strategic design and time-through-iteration-loop are crucial. and competition incentivizes like nothing else. it forces you to learn how to optimize for what's actually going to improve performance (if you want to win). oh also, it's insanely fun and addicting.

Companies are going way too far to try and sell you products Just to buy 2 new windows, a company came out and said you have to - Do a 3 window minimum even through you only need 2 - Sit through a 90 minute presentation on the history of the company, the founder, their story - A presentation on windows, how windows work and why their windows are different - A pitch on the state of the economy and inflation - A horrible negotiation experience on the cost of the actual windows This is actually happening at a lot of places. A similar experience of mine was I literally went to get an oil change at Mountain View tires and they wanted me to come out to the car and go over a full vehicle diagnostic that they would first need to take over an hour doing. They said it was policy It’s all to upsell you. Even places like valvoline make you do a full vehicle inspection now so they can go over it with you and upsell you on repairs
