If you are navigating in one of these worlds, and you look left, the model draws whatever looks right in the moment. Every time you change your viewpoint, the model has to imagine what should be there again, so it's very common for these models to "forget" what's in the world. For example, if you put a toy on the table, look away, then look back, the toy might not be there anymore. Tripo AI is releasing its Project Eden model, which works very differently: The model builds the world first, and then renders it based on that map. That map holds the real state of the world: the geometry, every object, where things are, what's already happened. The picture you see on screen gets generated from the map. This architecture flips the whole thing. Now, you get the following: 1. The world stops forgetting. Leave, come back, and the toy is still on the table because it lives in the map, not in the last frame you saw. 2. You can edit the world, and those changes persist for anyone who enters later. 3. Multiple people and AI agents can coexist in the world and see it from different perspectives. This is early research, but it's looking really promising. After 3 incredible years and 1.6M students later, my journey at ALX Africa has come to an end. We scaled from a few thousand students to 1.6M students on our platform. Students loved it and many of them took more than one course: 4M total! For the famous #ALX_SE Software engineering program, our SE students made an average of 2,000 commits and our checker reviewed 180M of their projects. That’s 2B lines of code… and that was before Claude Code. They actually wrote these themselves (unless Kimba said otherwise :) A big thank you to all my SE team mates, I am so proud of what we have accomplished, and I will really miss you all. Since last night, our emergency services have been working at the sites of the Russian strikes. A wicked attack – as of now, we know of dozens of wounded, including children and a pregnant woman. Sadly, four people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. About 430 drones and 18 missiles were used in the strike, including ballistic and aeroballistic missiles. This was a deliberately calculated attack aimed at causing maximum harm to people and civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv alone, dozens of apartment buildings have been damaged. The Azerbaijani Embassy was hit by debris from an Iskander missile. The main target of the attack was Kyiv, and strikes also hit Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. According to preliminary data, the Russians used a Zircon missile in the Sumy region this morning. Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko has already reported on the progress of rescue operations at the sites. I am grateful to everyone helping our people. Commander of the Air Force Anatolii Kryvonozhko also reported on the results of our air defense work. I thank our warriors for their effective actions. Ukraine is responding to these strikes with long-range strength, and the world must stop these attacks on life with sanctions. Russia is still able to sell oil and build its schemes. All of this must end. A great deal of work is underway with partners to strengthen our air defense, but it is not enough. We need reinforcement with additional systems and interceptor missiles. The problem judging GM Chris Grier is clearly to SOME degree Miami is talented. And now as frustrations w/ Mike McDaniel sharpen a little, we ask how Miami consistently beats the bad teams? Here's how: - They've had a good QB (when healthy). - They've had a bigger budget! Regardless of what you think about Tua Tagovailoa's ability to stay healthy, he is clearly a good QB and that buys you a lot in this league. He won with that circus show of offensive staff mismanagement under Brian Flores. He won with a more coherent staff under Mike McDaniel. He won with his offensive coordinator being changed every year since high school. He won with his offensive coordinator being stable for three years running. He won while never being asked to throw deep, then he won while being asked to throw deep more aggressively than literally every other QB in the league. And now he's winning while never being asked to throw deep again. He won learning from Ryan Fitzpatrick to just "throw it up" to zero separation vertical guys like Devante Parker and Mike Gesicki, and now he wins by pitting the ace to with max anticipation to road runners like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. He won using Jaylen Waddle like O.J. McDuffie and he won using Jaylen Waddle like Alvin Harper. He won throwing the ball to WRs to the near exclusion of RBs and TEs at Alabama and in his first years with McDaniel. And now his leading receivers are RB De'Von Achane and TE Jonnu Smith. He won with his RBs combining for 27 rushing TDs with a league-leading YPC, and he won with his RBs scoring only 11 or 12 TDs and having piss poor efficiency. He won with a Head Coach who wanted him GONE and even went so far as to sabotage him (see: 2021). To some degree, there wasn't really a wrong choice. To some degree, no matter which of the three roads they went down, they'd have had a winner at the most important position in the sport. Which brings us to the other reason Miami has had the look of a talented team over the years: cheating. (Not REALLY, of course. Let's not get any more draft picks taken away by Roger Goodell.) The fact of the matter is Miami has had a bigger effective budget than almost any other team in the sport over the last 5 years. They were given the green light on a Tank Season in 2019. Like declaring Bankruptcy, they retired all cap accruals and started fresh with zero cap debt. And just 5 years later they probably rank 4th or 5th in the entire league in cash that has already been paid out to players but has yet to be expensed against the salary cap. Think about that for a minute. There are other teams out there, e.g. the Saints and Eagles, who have a massive amount of cap debt. But they have been rolling & massaging that cap debt for a decade-plus, with people like Khai Harley and Howie Roseman keeping them on the leading edge of creative financialization of the salary cap. Miami reached their level of debt in only 5 years after their tank season. They've had an operating budget effectively 20% larger than your average NFL team. They have the Yankees budget. Add on top their fortunes from the Laremy Tunsil trade, and yes Miami has been able to amass talent...because they had a LOT to spend. Do they win over and above what Lady Luck dealt them in terms of QB choices in 2020? Do they win consistent with their league-leading budget over the last 5 years? What are they left with going forward? The oldest Defense in the NFL, and an offense that needs a line rebuild. When you consider all of the factors, this is why Albert Breer recently suggested Miami will be looking at making a change at the GM position.

I just sold my startup Talknotes for $200,000 on acquire.com 💸🤯🤩💰🥳🎉 I launched it last August when I was looking for an idea I could grow with paid ads, and made a MVP in one week. I took it from $0 to $7500 MRR in just 11 months. 👉 Here is how I grew it from zero: 💡 Idea: I got the idea when I tried to write a tweet using Google Doc's transcription tool, but it was terrible. And I was pretty sure I wasn't the one too lazy to type. So I made my own solution, and Talknotes was created. The audience is pretty broad so it was a perfect fit for Meta ads However… ✅ Validation: My rule is to only reinvest what the project generates, so, no ads until I make enough cashflow ❌ Listing on startup directories + a few Twitter sales generated $700 after 10 days. Yes, it's not much, but more than enough to show there is interest in the product and tell me to keep working on it 🤩 I started adding the features users requested, but the launch effect started to wear off and daily revenues quickly went to $0 after a few weeks 🫥 I got depressed and almost gave up on the app... 😔 But luckily, my friends and Dan Kulkov pushed me to continue And I'm glad they did because In October, I launched on Product Hunt 😸 and it blew up 🤯 It got Product of the Day and reached $1500 MRR thanks to the media coverage 🚀🚀 Until then, everything was done using vanilla JS/CSS/HTML + Node for back end. It's simple and easy, but I saw the limitations, so I remade the app using Nuxt to make it easier in the future 🏗️ (thanks to @blackevilgoblin and Piotr Jura for the content/courses! Tim Bennetto as well for the basics!) After that, I took a break and then launched ads on Facebook. The strategy is simple: Catch people's attention, and show them how the app can help them improve their life. No need to over-complicate 🙅‍♂️ Making good creatives is 80% of the job when doing ads on Facebook, most of the technical stuff is done by AI now. Thanks to the boost in traffic, I implemented a feedback loop: 1) Get new users 👥 2) Learn to know them with the onboarding form 💬 3) Make more ads based on the data you get from onboarding 📝 And it completely blew up. MRR doubled in ~2 months However... In May, I had a bad burnout 🥵😩 Multiple bugs slipped into the app, and I had to spend 2 days fixing everything in an emergency while revenues plummeted. This completely fucked me up mentally and had a hard time working on the app after that ( 💀💀 So I decided to list it on acquire.com and made a Twitter post ( I listed it for $200,000, a pretty low price considering the revenues and fast growth. I could have gotten $300,000 if I accepted payment over time, but $200,000 today is better than $300,000 tomorrow for me. 🚨 The process went smoothly until we tried to use Escrow, which almost fucked up the whole deal. (details: I got extremely lucky because the buyer really wanted to buy the app, but this could have ended the deal. We had to wait over a week to get the money back from them, even tho they said they already refunded it. But luckily, after threatening them, they sent it back the next day 🙃 The buyer finally got the money back, I transferred every asset to him, and he sent me the wire. With the profit made from the app + the sale, and other projects, I'm 30% away from being a millionaire 🤯 With this amount, I can pretty much retire in Asia if I want to. But that's just the beginning, I’m going to launch new projects soon! 🚀 But before that, I need to take a real vacation and detox. My brain is completely fucked up by those last 2 months. I gained weight, and got brain rot from scrolling all day waiting for the acquisition to move forward 💀💀 Surprisingly, doing absolutely nothing is 10x more exhausting than working 15h per day 🥱 Now, all this might sound like an overnight success. Today, I want to share two big lessons I learnt in the past one month. So here’s what happened. It all started with an unexpected physical setback of all places in Port Blair (now Sri Vijayapuram) on 20th December. That morning, I suddenly suffered what is called in medical terms, bilateral foot drop, meaning I lost all power in my feet. I couldn’t walk without support (the 1st video shows the limpness in feet); Somehow, I got back to Delhi on a wheelchair. As I consulted Dr Satnam Chhabra, renowned neurosurgeon (he had treated me earlier) at the Gangaram Hospital. He was worried and immediately recommended surgery since my L-4 disc was compressing the nerve. As I was mentally preparing to undergo the surgery in the last week of 2024, many dark and negative thoughts were playing in the mind (will I have to spend rest of my life on wheelchair? Will prolonged sitting and writing be a problem?) My immediate family was equally worried since we were told, it normally takes 6-7 months of intense physiotherapy and exercise to regain the strength and ‘flex’ in my feet even after the surgery. As I waited for the scheduled day of surgery and as the year was ebbing away, pessimism was creeping in. Then a friend suggested I consult Dr Sandeep Vaishya, another highly-skilled neurosurgeon and executive director of Fortis Hospitals. Thanks to this friend, Dr Sandeep said he will carry out a ‘key-hole’ surgery, which is quicker than an open surgery and takes lesser time to heal. So, on 30th December, I was wheeled into the operation theatre. Five hours later, I was back in the room and by evening, the hospital physiotherapist made me walk, albeit with support (2nd video). As the New Year dawned, I was back home! Now came the part entirely dependent on my own mental and physical strength, support and care by my wife and children. Thus began the recovery process. After a weeklong break, our websites and YT channels were back to work in the meantime. Since I know nothing else but work, it was hard to stay away from office. So, I took courage in both hands and went to office on 3rd January so as to assess my own ability to recover quickly (3rd video). Two weeks since then, life is almost back to normal (4th video, welcoming Nana Patekar to office on 17th January). I like to consider myself as a practical, take-life-as-it-comes-kind of a guy. And so far life has indeed been a busy, fulfilling journey with no time to philosophise much but the last 30 days have taught me to think deeper. Why am I sharing these details? Because of two reasons: A reinforcement of my own long-held belief that life can be extremely uncertain and therefore one must live in the moment, enjoy every opportunity that comes one’s way to achieve whatever your aim in life is and not plan too much for the future. Delia Ramírez, Jonathan Jackson, and Ro Khanna, under a banner reading "Demanding an End to the Blockade Against Cuba and International Medical Solidarity" — and told the crowd that Cuba, despite all its difficulties, had done admirable work preventing “maternal mortality, neonatal mortality, and cancer,”in her words, "areas in which we in the United States are still struggling to make progress." It wasn't an ad-lib. It was a return engagement. In an April interview after her own delegation trip to Havana, Jayapal said Cuba has "the lowest infant mortality, maternal mortality — sort of the opposite of what the United States has." When the reporter mentioned Cuba's higher life expectancy, she agreed with that too. The Washington Post's editorial board flagged it then as a flawed diagnosis. She said it again in front of National Nurses United two months later. So it's worth actually running the numbers, one at a time. Maternal mortality. Corrected for that, researchers put Cuba's real infant mortality rate somewhere between 7.45 and 11.16 per 1,000, not the sub-5 figure the government published. I've been working in silence for quite a while now. Tbh, I don't really even know where to start, so cue the rambling and ranting. Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on, no one can argue the past few years haven't been politically and economically wild. For crypto as a whole it feels like a never ending game of tug of war. A lot of X content has become toxic, so I just largely am not interacting these days. But I read, I read a lot of it. I think we like to forget history a bit in this community. $PLS launched off the highs, and the SEC swooped in right after. Very few people want to admit it, but it shook confidence immediately. I mean no other crypto project has survived such a thing at the time. But #PLS $PLSX and $HEX did. However, winning doesn't unshake that confidence. And RH during and after that event took social precautions to protect himself and his creations. Thing is, the guy isn't stupid. Someone once asked me if I thought certain aspects of the launch we rushed because he knew it was coming? And honestly, maybe. I'd attribute at least a non-zero probability to it. And If that were the case, im glad it was rushed. That case may have gone differently otherwise. Do I still think #PulseChain, #HEX, etc... all have futures? Yes. RH has had the opportunity to just straight up bounce from all of this. Why hasn't he? You could point to exhibit A, B, C, D, etc... of how he's likely got the funds to do that and we all could relatively do nothing about it. So why is he still around? I think it's pretty simple. The usual answer, he wants to win. It's in his twitter handle for Christs sakes. I'll go a step further and say he likely also wants us to win by extension, arguably not as much as he wins, but I mean that's pretty locked in at the moment 🤣 That's not to say he hasn't long been encumbered. And in that state, at lot has gone on without him. Much of which is / was bad. $pDAI guys... I pointed out from day one how building all this around a protocol in a dangerous state was a risky move. And I was right about that.... on multiple occasions... But does that matter now? I suppose not as much. In its current state, it's seemingly no longer exploitable. No different than a meme token now. (presumably, not like I have deep dove on any further risks since ESM). So I guess just whale risk mainly now? Now a lot of people here are in the anti-pdai camp. Me too for what it's worth. But I don't care as much about it's negative anymore in its current state. A lot of people are still in the #pDAI camp strongly. We view this as tribalism, but it's important to note that makes all of us in the #PulseChain camp universally. So these day I find myself relatively pDAI neutral. If you guys want to send it to $1 do it. Only whales can stop you, they run out eventually. (insert super strong this is NOT financial advice). Hell you can maybe even use Sigma to help? Or maybe it wont help, idk. Depends on how people use the software. Conversely, when looking at chain state overall... Why is there nearly $50M in stables sitting on the sidelines. Why not just bridge it out if you want out of what you think is a dead chain. Surely leaving it there exposes you to bridge risk? Why all these yield movements, why the $HEX dusts.... Something is happening. People are seemingly waiting to see what that something is. Or I am reading into things, NFA as always. This whole post is just ramblings of someone trying to do the best they can and certainly not any kind of advice. When I look at other ecosystems, I see a level of polish we don't have. I see tooling we don't have, I see a fostered developer environment we don't have. So I've just been building it, painstakingly.... Because someone has to if we want to be taken seriously. And what I've been building has allowed me to get Sigma to where it is. Sigma is so close... Really just in UI mode, performance optimization, going through nice to haves. I don't believe in launching in a non-finished immutable state. So yeah, I take my time. As with everything. But my point with all of this, and the "why" #Sigma question.... It's unifying, anyone can participate. Which tribe you're in doesn't matter. And if you don't like it, don't use it. It's just software you can use or not use. As it should be. The years of tooling work to deliver this has been a lot of work for one guy in silence. In that time AI has appeared. My take, every dev should be using it. Given the right direction and context. It will make you better. If you blindly trust it, it will make you worse. GPT 5.4 audits smart contracts better than most auditing services. Especially if you give it the context of what you are trying to do. Anyways I digress, testnet is soon. Soon more meaning a feeling of near completion not always reality. That how software is. I do think Sigma stands to unify the chain in a common goal, and shift liquidity into more meaningful places, but ultimately it up to the people the decide to use the software or not use it. And after these frameworks I've built will be applied to what I am tentatively calling the universal hex UI. More or less something aggregative of every derivative I can reasonably support. With data and analytics we since lost. So not just $HEX, $HDRN, and $ICSA, but others as well. However, that depends on some aspect of $Sigma to exist first, so sigma first, chain unity first. And last but not least, take care of yourselves and strive to do cool things. If we aren't doing cool things then what's the point? Hope you think my UI looks good, I spent a while on it. /rant

Today is January 12, 2025, marking the first GCV Barter Conference in China in New Year and the 13th Barter Conference overall. Blog 265 Diamondbacks first pitch ◦6-9: Gym, called parents, posted walking videos ◦10: Reunited with MikeyBets and felt complete ◦10:45: Arrived at Chase Stadium and was welcomed by the awesome Diamondbacks staff (shoutout Casey Wilcox) and walked right through the dugout and onto the field ◦Also huge thank you to Mike Dellosa (VP of ticket sales) who answered my LinkedIn dm and helped get set this all up ◦10:55: MikeyBets setup his camera in the Diamondbacks dugout which was hilarious to watch (he was viciously hungover) ◦11: Met with lots of the Diamondbacks and A’s players and coaches while they warmed up on Chase Field. Frank was in his element cracking jokes and talking baseball with the fellas ◦Everyone was incredibly welcoming, humble, and fun. The Diamondbacks manager, Torey Lovullo, called Frank a fucking legend ◦We crushed walk 277 circling the field pregame as Frank tracked the Mets game ◦11:30: Practiced the first pitch. We needed to loosen up the cannon more than we did in Milwaukee ◦12: Took a little break behind the dugout for Frank to mentally prepare for pitch ◦12:40: Mets tied it up ◦12:43: Frank broke into a dance-off with the mascots ◦12:45: Frank walked out for yet another Ceremonial First Pitch at an MLB game.
