In such ops there should be deck lines rigged and all personnel must hook on to the deck lines. Ops at sea are difficult n dangerous but when conducted with profeessional safety in mind they are achieved comfortably.

Automatic Helicopter Landings on Naval Ships Landing a helicopter on a moving naval ship is one of the most demanding tasks in aviation. The flight deck continuously changes its position, attitude, and velocity with the sea, requiring precise relative positioning throughout the approach. The landing sequence uses two navigation systems. During the approach, Differential GPS (DGPS) guides the helicopter along a calculated flight path. Near the flight deck, navigation switches to a laser guidance system, providing centimeter-level relative positioning for the final hover and touchdown. During the automatic hover, the flight control system continuously compensates for ship motion, wind, and turbulence to maintain a stable landing position. This significantly reduces pilot workload and can safely complete the landing even if the pilot becomes incapacitated. The system entered operational service on the JMSDF SH-60K Seahawk, becoming the world's first operational system capable of fully automatic landings of a manned helicopter on a moving naval ship. It was developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
