Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev believes mathematical superintelligence could eliminate software bugs altogether. "Math skills and coding actually go hand in hand... In the same way that MSI can be used to make sure that your math is correct, when you have a computer program or a piece of software, it could be used to make sure that's correct and that there are no mistakes." "Rather than it being a cat-and-mouse game of escalating model capabilities, finding breaches and preventing breaches from happening, verification and proof that software is immune to these types of bugs, I think is the future."

We asked stephen balaban (co-founder of Lambda) about AI pessimism. "In general, everyone underestimates what exponential growth looks like." "Think about how good code generation has gotten over the past 90 days." "In a couple of years, you will have a function that goes from cash to software." "That's going to completely change the way businesses operate."

TypeSafe AI's Diogo Almeida's elevator pitch for Jev: "Where the f**k is all the automation?" "AI is so unbelievably smart. Not that I hate on chatbots or coding agents, I love them myself, but it's so useless at all other stuff. It's tragic." "TypeSafe is making AI for software. We want to make AI powerful, not just for humans in the loop, but to actually build real software. Jev, to us, is our first model in this whole space to make [automation] way, way better." "I like Claude Code and Codex. I love the description from Garry Tan and them: It's just-in-time software. It makes software on the fly, and you can program software in natural language, but it has the same expressive power as software." "What I want instead is smart software. Instead of automating software engineering, I want to expand what software itself can do, such that things that should be automatable can then be automatable." "I want to express things like intent. I want to expand the vocabulary of what we can do." "Programming is hyper-specifying valuable things and then infinitely replicating them. It's so freaking cool." Diogo Almeida

Jensen is pushing back on the AI will kill all software narrative just like he pushed back last year on the DeepSeek panic. He was right then. He will be right again. "There's this notion that .. the software industry is in decline and will be replaced by AI. You could tell because there's a whole bunch of software companies whose stock prices are under a lot of pressure. Because somehow AI is going to replace them. It is the most illogical thing in the world and time will prove itself. .. If you were an artificial general intelligence, would you use the tools like ServiceNow and SAP and Cadence and Synopsys? Or would you reinvent a calculator? Of course, you would just use a calculator."

Benedict Evans says AI means more software, not less: "There's going to be a bunch of stuff you could do with software that you just couldn't do before at all. And so there will be more competition." "If you think about the enterprise software fleet today, you've got three buckets... big iron horizontal systems, so SAP and Workday and your CRM... vertical software... and then in the middle, this fuzzy improvised space of Excel and email and the shared file system." "Now you add ChatGPT to that. Do you do that in an LLM? Is there an LLM tool that means you can do that in Salesforce where you couldn't do it before, or you can do it in your vertical app that you couldn't do before?" "All of which is a long way of saying, what does this do to software? And it must be more software. Way more software." Benedict Evans with Erik Torenberg

Neural interfaces, in the form of wristbands. "The neural interface aspect is almost like mind control," Zuck explained. You won't have to physically control anything; Meta's wristbands will be able to read your mind and do things for you. Here's how this works:

Sequoia partner Pat Grady says software is shifting from apps that demand attention to agents that work quietly in the background. This shift will change what moats will look like, and will be especially hard for incumbents to deal with. "It's two very different business paradigms," he says. "In an era of apps, you want a lot of surface area with your customers, you want them to spend a lot of time in your product." "In an era of agents, things can just be running passively in the background. The amount of surface area you have with your customers, the amount of time they might spend in your product might be de minimis. So the nature of the moat that you [will need to build] is different." "I think we'll see a lot of companies in the coming years able to live in the software world and have some of the workflows people are accustomed to. And then separately they can deploy these passive agents that kind of function as coworkers who just come back to you when things are done." From his appearance on the show in January.

#WATCH | Mumbai, Maharashtra: On the Jevons paradox and software demand expansion, Neelkanth Mishra, Executive Director Designate of the World Bank, says, “…If you think about what the major cost of a software firm is, it is people. So, if the writing of software is getting automated, those firms will be the first to make adjustments. But on the whole, it seems that the Jevons paradox—which dictates that as the cost of writing software falls, the amount of software written goes up—is actually playing out. If an XYZ company, which is a product company, was spending, say, $100 million on writing software and can now do it for $70 million, they might need to lay off some people; that is their business priority. But if the amount of software written goes up three to four times, the number of software engineers in the ecosystem will not change… This panic and paranoia about massive job losses is something that I think is, at this stage, unfounded.”

We're thrilled to introduce NeuralOS, Lambda’s first neural-native operating system: The OS, the apps, the network, the logic... all dreamed in the mind of a model. This is where words become apps. And thoughts become systems. - Create your own space invaders game. - Bring back stumble upon. - Create a Matrix-themed OS. - Whatever. You think it. The model runs it. Welcome to the age of neural software.

.Amjad Masad : Creating software is going to be one of the most exciting areas. The average person will soon be as capable as what a senior software engineer is today, as we shift from doing the work to directing it. Instead of coding line by line, you’ll run multiple agents in parallel, building the frontend, refactoring the database, shipping features, all in the background. On top of that, you’ll have a clean interface to design and interact with AI more creatively. Software creation is moving from execution to orchestration, and soon, it won’t be a specialised skill, it’ll be the baseline.

Marc Andreessen: Software isn't precious anymore. In this new world, high quality software is infinitely available. "We've always lived in a world in which software is this precious thing that you have to think about very carefully." "It was really hard to generate good software, and there was only a small number of people who could do it." "Those days are just over." "If you need new software to do X, Y, or Z, you're just going to wave your hand and get it." "Things that used to be hard, or even seem like an insurmountable mountain to get through, all of a sudden, I think, become very easy." Marc Andreessen 🇺🇸 with Latent.Space

Cursor CEO Michael Truell on the future of writing code: "Our goal with Cursor is to invent a new type of programming." "It looks like a world where you have a representation of the logic of your software that does look more like English." "You can imagine kind of an evolution of programming language towards pseudocode. You have written down the logic of the software, and you can edit that at a high level." "It won't be the impenetrable millions of lines of code, it'll instead be something that's much terser and easier to understand and easier to navigate." Michael Truell with Lenny Rachitsky on Lenny's Podcast

Applied Intuition co-founder Qasar Younis on defense software and the key to faster procurement: "I think it's not controversial to say that the conflicts of the future are going to be software-defined." "It's not going to be very traditional conflicts where you have aircraft carriers lining up or tank columns." "Our debate we need to have internally is, from the secretary all the way down, who's the first person who really understands software in a very deep way?" Elon Musk on when AI leaves the human band. "It's getting to the point where it won't just be good at software, it'll be what I call Stockfish level good." "So Stockfish is a chess program that can beat the world's best chess players very easily." "In fact, at this point, you could run Stockfish on your phone and beat Magnus Carlsen at chess." "AI software will be so good that it will be Stockfish level good, meaning that it is impossible for a human to compete in writing software with AI." "But like, AI will just crush all humans at software." Wait But Why's Reality curve is the same joke with a graph: ant → bird → chimp → "dumb human" → Einstein… then the red line goes vertical. The gap from average human to Einstein is a rounding error once the slope gets stupid. • Funny robot does monkey tricks • Then it passes Einstein • Stockfish on a phone already crushes Magnus • Software is next — not autocomplete, unbeatable The cartoon is the warning. Stockfish is the unit. Code is the board.

Jensen Huang just said this is the greatest era in history to build software. AI agents will not kill software. They will do the exact opposite: create a massive new wave of software demand. at NVIDIA GTC Taipei 2026 "Click and type. We now replace that with explaining to the AI what we want, our intent, and the AI generates the code or uses tools to produce the necessary output. This is how computers are going to work in the future. This is Agentic AI. For two years, we've been building toward this, and now it has arrived. One of the big breakthroughs, of course, is tool use. A lot of people have said, “Jensen, AI is coming. Agentic AI is coming. Therefore, all the software companies are going to go out of business.” This is exactly the opposite. Because there are going to be so many agents, the world is no longer limited by the number of people. Therefore, those agents are going to use more tools than ever. This is actually an incredible time to be a software company. But the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it. This is a big breakthrough. And in fact, what we have done, as you know, what Nvidia’s treasure..." ---- From 'NVIDIA' YT channel (link in comment)
