“In the last 4–5 months, we stopped typing code.” Cognition CEO Scott Wu says almost all coding at Cognition is really just done through prompts now: “The code that we check into GitHub, how much of it was typed by a human at this point? Almost none.” “Now it... show more

"We're trying to hire as many new grads as we can. We're finding that a lot of young people are agentmaxxing." - Replit founder Amjad Masad Amjad says that despite the “doom and gloom” around entry-level jobs, this is actually a “golden era” for young people who know how to use AI tools: "The roles are collapsing. We have designers shipping code, engineers shipping design, and salespeople shipping code." "The particular skill is not the bottleneck anymore. It is how ambitious you are, how generative you are, how creative you are, and how good you are at utilizing these tools." "So I think it's really a golden era for a lot of young people coming up right now in the job market. In our time, you would go and interview and become a Java J2EE software engineer doing global migrations. That was your title, right? It's no longer the case. We just want people to come and do things, and I think that's incredibly exciting."

Zapier CEO Wade Foster says individuals have become more productive with AI tools, but that it's not clear if companies as a whole are also becoming more productive: "Across Zapier, 100% of our employees are using AI daily. People are individually more productive. But if you were to ask me, 'Is the company more productive, institutionally are we more productive?' It's a lot harder to say yes to that." "This feels like the next thing that everybody's working on: How do we actually accelerate the institution? This gets harder because you actually have to rethink how the company works." "To give you an example, we've gone from a world where code was expensive to now code is cheap. In the world where code was expensive, you had all these processes upfront to talk to customers, to align on roadmaps, to figure out what the right thing to build was, because if you chose the wrong thing, that was a really expensive mistake." "But when code is cheap, you can get rid of all that stuff. And that takes redesigning jobs or rethinking the human where the human actually exists in the first place."

"Just six months ago, we were talking about autocompleting code — now agents automate the code. The new question is: how do we take the code that’s been written into production and make sure we're monitoring it?" Watch the full conversation

Google Chrome. Full break-in. Your product isn't secure. it's just been expensive to break. those are not the same thing, and a lot of founders are about to learn the difference. One AI just ran the full chain into Chrome for $1,597. weeks of expert human work, done for the cost of a weekend trip. The wall around your code was never "how good is this." it was "how much does it cost to find the crack." that cost is collapsing. If breaking in is getting this cheap, checking your own code before someone else does can't be the thing you skip. That's the gap we sit in. we run this on your code first. We published every number. 🧸yeah...2.0 is where BTS is at right now after going through all the change and growth. It feels like we have stepped into a new chapter and reached another level. Like how we say "you know how we do" in the song. 🧸We're a lot more confident in our (?) now. With this track, we wanted to show who we are today and the way we're moving forward with stronger conviction.

A TURING AWARD WINNER STOOD UP AND TOLD A ROOM OF ENGINEERS THAT ALMOST NONE OF THEM DO THE ONE THING THAT ACTUALLY SEPARATES REAL ENGINEERING FROM TYPING, THEY WRITE CODE BUT THEY NEVER WRITE THE BLUEPRINT 56 minutes from Leslie Lamport -- Turing Award winner, creator of the tech behind almost every distributed system on earth. -> His claim: architects draw plans before a brick is laid. Programmers just start coding and hope. That gap is where complex systems quietly break. 04:10 -- A blueprint for software is called a spec. Write what the system must DO before touching how it does it. 10:13 -- Thinking above the code is the skill. The language is just the last, easiest step. 43:23 -- What programmers should really know isn't syntax. It's thinking clearly enough that "done" actually means done. 48:15 -- Thinking is hard, so we skip it. We jump straight to code because typing feels like progress. And this is exactly the wall the new "Loop engineering" hype is about to hit -- people now design loops of agents that write and check code while they walk away. But an unattended loop with no spec just ships broken work faster. Lamport is the missing half: the discipline that makes it safe to leave a loop running at all. You thought the leverage moved into better prompts and better loops. This is the man showing it moved above the code, where almost no one is willing to think. Save this. Read it before you trust a single agent loop ↓

.Scott Wu to Joe Lonsdale on why Cognition uses AI in job interviews: "One or two years ago, people had this mentality of 'How do we make sure people aren't using AI while we're interviewing them?' And I think that has totally flipped. Honestly, I think that was wrong... If you're asking the question of like, how do we evaluate people on exactly the thing that AI can already do, that seems kind of the wrong. Our interview process has always been... you can use as much AI as you want to use. We're going to give you a few hours. Just build your whole own product surface. A lot of these are projects that, frankly, is like, if you were trying to do this by hand, you would not be able to get done in a few hours. So you kind of have to use AI for this. But in reality, what we actually want to test is, in addition to how familiar you are with these tools, what we actually want to test is, what do you think is the right thing to build? Or how do you make these product decisions? How do you make these trade-offs? How do you decide or collect information about what you should be doing?"

Head of Claude Code Boris Cherny at Anthropic's annual developer conference in San Francisco on how his life changed in the last 6 months with AI writing all the code. "About six months ago what happened is all the code that I used to have written by hand now Claude writes. And I just prompt Claude. So I talk to Claude and I'm like, hey, let's build this feature. It builds a feature and it tests it. And then it shows me. And I'm like, yeah, that's good. Or no, wait, make this change. And then it makes the change. People still using Cursor/Codex/VSCode to code?! I don't get it... I know we used to call it "vibe coding" Today, I call it professional product engineering. Done staring at code in an editor, we're way pass that. This is how you should do it in 2026 👇

Raindrop cofounder ben hylak goes deeper on his exchange with Brian Chesky about booking Airbnbs with LLMs: "If Airbnb had an API, I would use it, and I would book Airbnbs through it using Claude Code. I know I would do it." "You see companies almost reducing themselves into an API with absolutely no moat. You look at Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. They're like, 'We have a Claude Code integration now.'" "At the point where people are just using Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. as an MCP, they've sort of lost the game, if no one is touching the UI anymore." "Right now, companies have to do that, increasingly, because they have no other choice. I think there will be a point where the incentives don't make sense anymore."

After reaching AI-native terminal velocity we are swamped in code review. The core insight is that as long as you can write code in parallel you will continue to be stuck until you can review it in parallel. I was surprised by how quickly this became my daily driver for not just review code, but writing it as well.

Elon Musk: Right now, SpaceX is the only hope to become multiplanetary. “There are many good causes in the world, but we got to be careful we do not try to take on too many. There are many noble missions, but we have to pick our battles and make sure we get this done. Because nobody else is doing it. If SpaceX doesn't do it, I'm not sure how it will happen. I think, at least right now, SpaceX is the only hope [to become multiplanetary]. We've got to get this done. And it's far from done. We got a long way to go.” Code Conference, September 28, 2021

It’s been 25 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, but almost every American alive that day still remembers it like it was yesterday: the shock, where we were, what we thought, how it felt, and how we responded. At no point in our nation’s future, must we ever forget.

Cat Wu, head of product for Claude Code at Anthropic: "you can build almost anything with Claude from a single prompt now" one prompt gets you a working screen, not YOUR product Claude Code has never seen your design system, so it guesses the look fresh every time. how to hand Claude Code that system is in the article. better than the $300 design course in your tabs, and this one's free.
