In this video Softfork Mechanic #BIP-110 talks how BIP110 chain would consider a Proof of Work change in case very little hashrate shows up. Curious if Dathon Ohm / BIP-110 is considering adding this to the BIP in case no blocks are found in the first 24 to 48... show more

Something subtle is happening. BIP-110 has gone ~10,000 blocks with zero miner signaling. Mandatory enforcement hits in August. If hash doesn’t flip the bit, there’s no chain split. It just stalls.

Short clip and followup yesterday from the studio. When I said Core V30 would increase the attack surface and threat sector to Bitcoin I was attacked. Now that V30 failed-and resulted in loss of Bitcoin for some-where are those mouthpieces for Core? Lopp. Calle. Shinobi. Back. Livera. Remember the "adults in the room" telling us you couldn't trust Knots? Or Luke, or Mechanic. Now, V30 has been pulled. Failed. 200 developers and yet it released with numerous bugs. Here's a simplified video explaining the difference between soft forks and hard forks in Bitcoin, how both can (or cannot) cause chain splits, and some updated thoughts on BIP-110...how it will likely stall in early August and fail to activate in September.

Hodlonaut on why Big Bitcoin is suddenly posting about BIP-110: "This movement is massive right now. There's a reason Michael Saylor is posting all these posts about BIP-110. He's worried. This is our shot. The movement is here, the energy is here. The people have stood up and put their skin in the game. So I don't agree at all with 'we must not burn the capital.' Shall we burn all the capital that has manifested and is now surging, reigniting the very idea of being a sovereign Bitcoiner? No. We shall join it, and we shall make a stand." hodlonaut #BIP-110 on The The Bitcoin Matrix Podcast ⚡️ #286.

Bitcoin RBF (Replace By Fee) Tutorial [Reposted] This tutorial is relevant today because RBF will probably be the most accessible way to split your UTXOs in the event of a sustained BIP-110 chain split. I'll make a new tutorial soon showing how to do that.

Tomorrow, independent developer Super Testnet comes on the show to share why he's proposing a User-Rejected Soft Fork for BIP 110 — and explores the different ways a potential 'soft fork war' could play out around BIP 110 in August. This episode is chockfull of soft-fork history, with insights into how changes to consensus have historically been executed and how these processes could shift going forward.

Hodlonaut on the pressure campaign to make him drop BIP-110: "The lengths people have gone to, to intimidate me out of supporting it. My DMs are full of it. People reaching out: what are you doing with this BIP-110 support? Your reputation is going to hell. It starts with friendly nudging, then threats. And then, when they realize I'm actually tying myself to the mast, it's just straight hostility and smearing. But I don't care what people I don't respect say about me. I don't want any standing or position among people who don't share my principles. I'm very much supporting BIP-110." hodlonaut on The The Bitcoin Matrix Podcast ⚡️ #286.

Mechanic may have called me a vagina and insinuated that sentiment analysis is irrelevant for what happens with BIP-110... but he's wrong. I shared this data not because I'm looking to spark controversy, but because there is a lot of Bitcoin at stake here and emotion can cause people to make poor decisions. This is only amplified when we all live inside of our own little algorithmic bubbles. Which is why this kind of analysis actually CAN give us clarity about what will happen on August 8th through a more human/social lens. TLDR for people that didn't read the piece is that BIP-110 supporters are broadly: 1) Getting angrier and more disapproving the further this debate rages on. 2) Talking with more hedging language, compared to those against BIP-110 who are growing more convicted. 3) Being fed higher rates of BIP-110 content by the algorithm, causing the debate to appear to have a larger mindshare then it actually does. 4) Getting LESS excited the closer we get to the activation date (which was probably the most unexpected and counterintuitive finding IMO). Again, I wish everyone the best as this debate rages on, but calling me names isn't going to stop me from sharing my findings ✌️

What is the most important project in bitcoin right now? One that obsoletes Slipstream and non-standard transaction concerns, that forces the spam and BIP-110 discussion to resolve organically in a decentralised way, and that prevent the single largest attack vector in the entire ecosystem. In this Guy's Take, I give a breakdown on DATUM and Stratum V2, the indispensable protocols which are radicalising the way mining works.

For those advising us to take the case up, what advice would you give in the light of this new video? Do not forget that if we still go ahead to press charges and this lady repeats the content of this new video in court, there is no case. The demoralization we often face 🤦‍♂️.

The things you do now are part of your legacy. Jameson Lopp, one of the biggest "pushers" for Core V30. Jameson Lopp , investor and proponent of Citrea, the company who was the initial influence for blowing out OPRETURN. He is seen here explaining how this is the sole use "extreme edge" case for blowing the lid off OPRETURN and causing this shit storm. Removing a filter that has been in place for 14 years for what? A potential use case for someone who has to have a transaction seen immediately and can't wait for a block to be mined. Great job, Core. h/t Justin Bechler #BIP-110
