Indian Roads don’t fail because of “Rain”. They fail because Drains don’t work. When rainwater has nowhere to go, it sits on the road, seeps in, weakens the base and potholes are guaranteed. Bad Drainage = Guaranteed Broken Roads!

Unpaved roads may look harmless, but they’re quietly fueling floods and damaging our paved streets. When roads aren’t properly graded, drained, or surfaced, rainwater has nowhere to go. Instead of soaking safely into the ground or flowing through drainage systems, water rushes over loose soil, carrying sand and debris with it. As announced, KMC has started work on repairing its roads. There are a total of 106 roads in KMC’s domain & we will be rehabilitating those roads to ensure that there are no potholes & the traffic remains smooth. Video is of Sher Shah Suri Road where work has begun. Have given a time of 60 days to the KMC team to complete this task. Will keep everyone posted 🙏

Yes, I see potholes and I feel them too myself. So I share your frustration about the state of our roads. We make no excuses, but ask you to bear in mind that while the rain persists it is difficult to carry out the repairs. We are taking careful note of the weather and will act as soon as it is wise because what we don't want is to repair the roads and for them to go back to their exact same condition in a matter of days because of the rain. I want to assure you that road repairs will take place very soon.

We procured three pothole patching machines, which served as effective tools for temporarily addressing potholes while we awaited the completion of the procurement process for road construction and re-carpeting. We also utilized our county engineers and skilled staff from the Roads Department to maintain county roads, using the bitumen produced at our own facility, which we revived situated on Nanyuki Road.
