With that in mind, we're starting a new series on basic etiquette in public space. Today, let’s talk about escalator etiquette. While you can technically stand anywhere—left, right, or centre—standing on one side and leaving the other side free for those who wish to walk is considered proper etiquette. Mosques have been targeted in Southport, Hartlepool and Sunderland. Asian man walking alone was punched by a rioter in Hartlepool while others laughed at him. Asian Uber driver was attacked in Sunderland by a mob while a van driven by a white man was left alone. Black passengers hid in a bus out of fear of thugs targeting them in Sunderland. Rioters chanting “Who the f**k is Allah!” Police station and police cars torched. Shops looted and local residents scared to come out of their homes. None of the above has ANYTHING to do with the slain children of Southport, illegal immigration, unemployment, or “getting our country back!” It has EVERYTHING to do with a deep hatred for Muslims and non-whites (doesn’t matter if you were born in the UK), and a criminal impulse to riot and loot. Let’s be brutally honest, many right wing “patriots” and the far-right only have an issue when non-whites commit crimes — otherwise, they couldn’t give a rats about white criminals.

This is the true reflection of the condition of Youth in Kashmir and make no mistake Jammu’s youth is no different . While as the central dispensation and their associates here pride themselves in having such day and night cricket matches , the reality and truth is this demographic dividend is being wasted each day . Education system is producing unemployable youngsters who later End up being crowds in such events and in the reels. For decades aspirations of young are muzzled and no true leadership exists that that represents the Young people and how to reap this democratic dividend in J&K or even speak about their issues . Rhetoric and reels have replaced progressive ideology and authentic work . With this I wish our PM Narendra Modi Ji Narendra Modi a very Happy birthday .

And yet… from this place, forgotten and broken, comes something new. Something holy. A reminder that God brings life from what the world has left behind. From ruin, resurrection. Thank you again for Dawn R who made a pilgrimage today to pray for the pope in his childhood home. It’s so incredibly moving.
