Newly-confirmed NASA administrator Jared Isaacman said “we’re just months away from sending American astronauts around the moon for the first time in more than half a century.” “We're going to want to get there, start the development of our lunar base, so I would say that's of pretty great interest,” Isaacman said. “There's an awful lot to learn on the moon, and it’s something we should be working on as we develop our deep space capabilities.” Isaacman spoke to CBS News’ Major Garrett on his plans for putting U.S. astronauts back on the moon and beyond.

M+38: One of the experiments we’re conducting on the International Space Station is to expand on current hardware, demonstrating the creation of golden nanospheres under microgravity conditions, which are larger and more uniform than their Earth-bound versions, and have applications in cancer diagnostics and treatment and improved pharmaceuticals. We obtain our samples from the MELFI freezer and grow them into our Industrial Crystallization Cassettes, and will package them for return on Spx-32 for additional analysis.

Jeff Bezos: All the polluting industry can be done off Earth if space travel gets reliable enough and inexpensive enough, and we can get materials from asteroids and near-Earth objects and the Moon. Then this garden planet can be returned to its pre-industrial revolution state. This is the only way in which the world is worse today than it was 500 years ago. Everything is better today. The global illiteracy is better than it was 500 years ago. Infant mortality is better than it was. Global poverty is better than it was. Everything is better today and it keeps getting better and the one exception is the natural world and we can actually have both.
