This is TOETVA What is TOETVA? It stands for - Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Vestibular Approach It is an emerging, minimally-invasive technique for thyroidectomy. TOETVA is a novel, scarless technique to remove the thyroid gland by inserting surgical instruments through small incisions in the oral vestibule between the lower lip and gingiva. As a manual therapist who routinely deals with the after effects of scarring, I would be concerned this would actually lead to more fascial restrictions and negative sequelae along the anterior neck / hyoid than a traditional thyroidectomy scar that is local (vs tunneling) 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️
