I built a fully playable 3D platformer game in exactly 3 days, using almost entirely AI-generated assets. To test whether AI can really replace the asset grind, I came up with a steampunk cat universe from scratch and brought it straight into Unreal Engine 5. If you're using an Nvidia GPU, have you recently start noticing high system RAM usage across all Unreal Engine 5 games ? While testing the launch version of Stalker 2, I saw extremely high RAM usage and the only things running are the game + Discord. I first noticed this a while ago and assumed it only affected newer UE5 titles (like Gears of War: E-Day and the Halo CE). It turns out it also affects older UE5 games. Now I'm wondering if it's just my system or if more people are seeing this. If so, it could potentially be related to a recent Nvidia driver, a Windows update, or something else. Would love to investigate this further but unfortunately I don’t have the time with all the games coming out.

In my previous post about the #Nioh3 demo, I mentioned that when the game isn’t consistently holding 60 FPS or 120 FPS, several issues can show up. Here’s a clearer breakdown of what's going on. The main reason is that the game speed and physics are tied to the frame rate. When you enable the 120 FPS cap, the engine start overreacting and pushes CPU usage very high, even if the game is still running at around 60 FPS (as shown in the first example). In the second clip, you can see the uneven, jittery camera movement I mentioned before. Notice how much smoother 60 FPS and 120 FPS look compared to the unlocked side. Also, camera movement at 60 FPS is slightly faster than at 120 FPS. In the third clip, player movement is slower when the frame rate is unlocked. This doesn’t happen all the time, but it shows up often enough to be noticeable. Because of how the Katana Engine behaves, the game is clearly designed around 60 FPS. Running at 120 FPS is possible, but it’s only recommended if your system can maintain that target almost all the time, which isn’t easy to achieve. There’s also an alternative workaround where you select the 60 (locked) option and enable Frame Generation (DLSS or FSR 3), as shown in the last clip. The downside is that DLSS Frame Generation tends to show the same stuttery look as when the frame rate isn’t holding a fixed target, likely due to Reflex keeping the frame rate slightly below target. FSR Frame Generation, on the other hand, looks much smoother and works better here.

I just love creating/designing using awesome AI driven tools like the new The Sandbox Studio + Codex from OpenAI (I personally use GPT 5.5, I prefer it over Claude models) But I cleaned up some bottlenecks, so now it's running 60 FPS, and added some basic 🕷️ models to attack and changed the path design + animated grass and trees with a stylized look. And added some animated wtaer ripples near the edges which I like. But I'll probably add some color variation like I had before back into the mix. I tested Rust vs Javascript for games 🎮 I had this question recently and decided to port my Three.js game to Rust Desktop I'm still not able to reproduce the same look on both games but I believe that codewise they are very similar With both games running, the Rust version averages 37FPS while the Three.js version averages around 20FPS If I'm running one game at a time the FPS goes up considerably (60 FPS on both with power on) So the Rust version for Desktop has 85% increase in performance on my Macbook Pro M4 This comparision is basically comparing Browser vs Native, which is not completely fair So that's why I want to port the Rust version to WASM on the browser and benchmark again soon
